The youngest in a family of seven children, she always had an overly creative mind and an active imagination. She favours the dark and deadly when writing, her genres of choice being dark fantasy and horror, but she has been known to venture into the light on occasion.       Invasion

      Mercy was not forthcoming...

      Too many hungry creatures emerged from the mist, risen from the dust, were born out of the fire. They brought chaos and death; we thought it was the worst we could imagine.

      We were wrong.

      The earth opened with a rumble, it cracked with a belch and the demons flew into our world.

      Fourteen Days In The Desert

      There isn’t much water left; I’d better find Haven soon or I’ll end just another corpse buried in the sand.

      If it even exists. Maybe Haven is just a rumour. If it is, I’ve spent fourteen days in this forsaken desert for nothing, just to die of thirst. At least it will be a kinder death than the one I left behind.

      Oh, please let Haven exist. Please let that city, that last infection free oasis, exist.

      An Unexpected Visitor

      I watch the candle flicker in mournful remembrance of our anniversary. Not of the day we were married, but of the day he tried to kill me, the day I killed him instead.

      I’m still trying to understand why John changed, why he become so violent. It started when he consulted that researcher and they found that evil book. I’m not crazy; I know the voice John was hearing came from it.

      What? Oh, someone’s at the door. I’d better answer it.

      I open my front door to see John, holding a knife in the rotting flesh of his hand.

      Last Stop

      I can see a pink elephant with blue wings wearing a striped scarf. It is standing right in front of me on the flight deck.

      Poor thing, it looks as stranded and forgotten as I am.

      It must be the lack of oxygen; I’m starting to see hallucinations. I can’t believe a pink elephant will be the last thing I see before I die.

      Why couldn’t I get to the escape ships in time? This station was just supposed to be a layover, a stop on the way to my final destination. Stupid laser bombardment, stupid Tar’ashe aliens.

      I hope I’m dead before they find me.

      Revolution of Nature

      The world watched as it fell, that maverick star fragment from the edge of the solar system. We were all relieved when it landed in some obscure, desolate desert. Until the changes, until nature started to mutate, rebel. Scientists didn’t understand it, but they could see the effects; that the star had super-charged every living thing on the planet, with the exception of humans. Maybe it was fate, nature’s revenge for our transgressions. Now our race is fighting for its survival.

      At the moment, though, I am a bit more concerned about my survival. I’m low on fuel and the spider army is closing in on me.

      The Guardian

      The guardian stood at the door, imposing, burly, with sword in hand. Ronan swallowed and tightened his grip on his own weapon.

      Stand aside, in the name of the Glorious Emperor J’santu! I have been sent to deliver retribution to the Dark Lord Arintill! Impede the royal order at your peril!

      The guardian shifted his body; his shoulders hunched, and a rumble escaped his throat.

      Certainly. That idiot Dark Lord don’t pay me enough to risk my neck in some daft sword-fight.

      The guardian stepped aside with a smile and allowed Ronan to walk
