He lives in Florida with his wife Lesli Richardson (who is also an author best-known as Tymber Dalton), several pushy cats, a dog, a tortoise, and two birds who attempt to kill him on a regular basis. We had some bad news this morning in the group,
said Vinnie.
What’s that?
I asked, taking a sip of my sweetened ice tea. It was a late Tuesday afternoon in November, and we were at Kicks, our favorite beach-front restaurant on Calusa Key, for an early dinner. Vicky, my girlfriend of just over three months now, was still in Ohio where she’d gone to spend Thanksgiving with her folks. She was flying back to Tampa tomorrow.
One of our members was murdered about a month ago, after our last meeting. Counselor told us about it first thing today before we started. He said he’d heard about it on the news.
Vinnie Spano and I had been friends since our days in the Marine Corps. I was a freshly minted second lieutenant out of NROTC at Ohio State, and
