Take Off Time
What is Take off Time? Take off Time is a company we established in 2014 which started out as a simple YouTube channel in which we intended to post videos with tips of improving people’s skills and game and hope to gain an audience through this. We didn’t post a video until the year 2015 which was a montage of Michael Jordan’s Career highlights. Fast track to 2016, we set up the official site for our company which would be the centre piece of our company, a blog-site with articles on Basketball News, Tips and another place to share our videos. We later added a Newsletter in which fans of the site could sign up for exclusive tips and information that we wouldn’t post as articles, another way for audience engagement. In 2016, we also added newer features to our website including a Shop which we used to sell our material in the forms of books (like this one), courses and more to come in the future.
BASKETBALL – The Sport
Basketball is a hugely popular sport nowadays and interest and engagement for it is expanding across the world very quickly and is one of the fastest growing competitive sports. The NBA is almost definitely the most popular Basketball league and broadcaster around the world and most of the most popular teams play within the NBA (National Basketball Association).
Basketball has always been centred on an indoor environment to be played in as the special courts cater to the sport; however, playing Basketball outdoors is a very popular method of playing in summer time with friends, especially with the cheap commercial products like outdoor hoops.
Warm – Ups and Stretching
Before a game or during training, warming up is crucial. Warm-ups usually follow stretching, which is performed before-hand.
Stretching, why is it so important? Well, firstly, it isn’t just important for Basketball. Stretching is an important aspect of any sport. It’s a great utility that will help to prevent injury and loosen up those tight muscles. Stretching is very crucial as its main purpose is to increase or promote the range of motion within your joints. Flexibility is very time consuming in the sense that it takes a long time to build up flexibility and those who skip stretching will usually regret it as range of motion and flexibility are really important things.
When stretching, try to perform each stretch slowly and hold them for around 20-30 seconds which is optimal. Try to repeat each stretch at least once. Remember, if you do not have much flexibility, you must slowly build it up and your muscles will soon become accustomed to this, but don’t over stretch your
