About this ebook

If my heart could speak is a book of poetry full of raw emotions and feelings. Marquita Pasley elegantly took all of her personal experiences in life and love and created a book of poetry; each poem tells a story of how love can alter ones emotions, life, and even their state of mind. As you travel through each poem you will encounter every feeling from sadness, heartache and pain to joy, love, and self-worth. What makes If my heart could speak a unique book to read, is because the author not only speaks directly from the heart, but also from her personal experiences; creating an intimate setting for her readers to enjoy.

I would first like to dedicate this book to God. God has blessed me with the talent to write and the gift of freedom of expression. I would also like to thank my mother, my friend, and biggest supporter, for always encouraging me to dream big and go after my goals no matter the opposition. I count it a blessing to have such a fine example of how to be a woman, an entrepreneur, an author, and much more. Thanks mom, I love you. Finally I would like to thank my past and my present, without those lessons this book would not have been manifested. It took everything that I have experienced both good and bad; up until this point to make my book a reality. I am forever grateful.

To Malachi Pasley, my son, my heart, my joy! Thank you for coming into my life and showing me what unconditional love really means. You encourage me by just smiling at me and giving me the best hugs ever. Malachi you have been my greatest motivation. Thank you. Mommy does it all for you baby.

    Love Letter

    Dear Reader,

I wrote this book of poetry to express my personal experiences in love. We all have had our shares of ups and down when it comes to this thing called love. Some can paint a pretty picture, while others can sing a sad song; but there’s no denying that we have all learned positive and effective lessons. Heartbreak is not something anyone wants to endure, but rather a test we all hope we can pass. My experience in love has been one to remember from the break ups to makes up, to everything in between. I’ve learn that no matter how deep you love or how high a height you will go; if one isn’t ready to love the fairy tale will end abruptly. Two people must be willing to sacrifice, go the extra mile, and love unconditionally in order for the love to last and endure the test of time. The song lyrics say It’s better to love than never love at all, to appreciate all the good sometimes you got to fall. I believe that we all experience bad relationships to learn how to appreciate a good ones, and when your time comes to be love beyond measure all the lessons will soon come together and form a masterpiece. By reading each poem not only do I hope you can relate and apply it to your life; but hopefully you find a sense of comfort knowing that You are not alone. No one person has experience a heart ache that someone else hasn’t already endured and conquered, the belief that there is some sort of fairytale awaiting you is unrealistic but wait on love, believe in love, and allow
