      About the Poet

      ‘Love Letters’ is Mekael’s third magical concoction of lyrical verse. When asked if this collection is a continuation of his seemingly already set style of poetic expression, Mekael replied, ‘Love Letters’ is a break away from the deeply intense redemptive spiritual path that ‘The Genesis’ and ‘The Road to Damascus’ depicts. I was definitely traveling down a different road while on this poetic journey.

      Mekael was actually on a trip to Europe when he was hit with the desire to write a collection that was all about love. It was in the midst of him spending time in romantic cities like Paris, Zurich, Milan and Rome, that helped to inspire Mekael to create this verse filled collection.

      When asked how his experiences during this travels impacted the poetry of this collection, Mekael stated, Europe is no different than America in regards to its beautiful cities, places that allows for one to become filled with thoughts of love. While taking a walk along the Champs-Elysees in Paris one night, I was reminded of walks that I have taken through the downtown streets of my favorite American city, Chicago. The like smells and sounds, mixed with the powerful energy that pulses about both cities, all heightened my thoughts about romance and love, and helped me to find the exact expression filled path that I wanted to follow.
