Yama Gita (Song) in simple English rhyme are extracts from the Vishnu Puran (by Sage Parashar to Maitrey), Agni Puran (by Lord Agni to Sage Vasishta) and Narasimha Puran.
Gita and Ramayana are perhaps the sum total of the fabrics of Hinduism (a way of life).
The Gita (song) are teaching by Divine or ancient revered holy rishis teaching both metaphysics and practice of disciplined action. They proclaims that life is worth living, teaches how it should be lived and the path to self-realisation. They are the cream of the Upanishads, which themselves are the core of the Four Vedas.

INTRODUCTION
The Yama Gita is found in three texts clearly,
In Vishnu Puran Book 3 Chapter 1 to 7 fully;
In Agni Puran Chapter 382, Book 3 surely,
And in Narasimha Puran Chapter 8 certainly.
The Vishnu puran as a dialogue but does be,
With Sage Parashara, disciple Maitreya only;
Of creation, battles between Devas, asuras be,
Of Avatars of Vishnu, Krishna’s life in 6 parts fully.
Agnipuran, details of incarnations of Vishnu be,
Ritual worship, astrology, medicines, cosmology;
Martial arts etc. given to Sage Vasishta by Agni.
It comprises of 383 chapters in but actuality.
The Narasimha Puran of 68 chapters does be,
It includes topics on Avatars of Vishnu clearly;
The Kings of the Solar and the Lunar dynasties,
Dhruva, Markandeya, Prahalad evolution stories.
TEACHING OF YAMA GITA
Knowledge of Brahman
The Brahma jnana knowledge of the Brahman be,
This knowledge but gives the ultimate bliss surely;
It nothing but sense that the individual Atma be,
Identical with universal Brahman, Paramatma truly;
The physical body not ever the Atma does be,
Mind or intelligence is not the Atma certainly;
Even the life itself is not the Atma undoubtedly,
The Atma different from all stated previously;
The Atma is in the heart of individual clearly,
It but sees everything and senses all totally;
The Atma is different from the physical body,
It is this sages contemplate when meditating be.
