JENNIE MURPHY
Jennie Murphy is a registered nurse by profession who enjoys traveling, arts and crafts, and working outdoors, as well as writing. She also treasures her devotional time with God. She currently resides in a small town in northwestern Pennsylvania where she enjoys spending time with her two children and three grandchildren. Jennie expresses her heartfelt prayer for Hidden Treasures:"My purpose in publishing this story is to encourage people to think about their own souls, about eternity, and even about the way we live our lives here and now. This is a whimsical story sharing my very real experiences with the Living God. He is alive and moving in powerful and mysterious ways. His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. He doesn't keep His thoughts to Himself. If we need to hear from Him, He does whatever it takes to get our attention so we will focus on Him and only Him. The things of earth are temporal. Only our souls transport into eternity. Though we are born alone, into a family (usually), and we die alone, we can look forward to meeting our loved ones gone on before. The time is now. The choice is yours. Thank you for taking the time to read this story. May God bless your lives with His agape love."Author Jennie Murphy emerged from the "sexual revolution" only to feel used and wounded. Then, as a victim of adultery, she learned the painful consequences of the game someone else had chosen to play. Though time heals all wounds, she would never be the same. This easy-to-read account of Jennie's testimony, written in a storybook format (author uses a sheep named Hannah for application), brings hope to other broken hearts and hurting souls. Here is a vulnerable honesty that can't be dismissed-you may see your life reflected in her words. Disillusioned and hopeless, she knew there had to be more to life. What would God ask of her in this wounded state? Was His love for her buried too deep for her to find? Her tale is typical; her solution is not. For those truly searching for a way to change directions in the game of life, there is good news. God had already created a plan for Jennie, and He has one for you. From wounded to rescued; from despair to hope and healing. This book will help the reader "seek and find" the Hidden Treasures of God's love.

To The Reader
This story is a simple application of Scripture to events in life. The Scripture references and verses can be found after the story page in each chapter.
You will note changes in tense throughout the story, as much of it refers to the Almighty. Also used interchangeably are the character of Hannah and myself, depending on the application.
Jay R. and Hannah’s names have been changed to protect the innocent and the guilty!
Scripture References
To The Reader
John 1: 1—5
¹ IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
² The same was in the beginning with God.
³ All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
⁴ In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
⁵ And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Revelation 1:8
⁸ I am Al’pha and O’me-ga, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Dedication
This is my love offering to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
(Isaiah 54:5)
Isaiah 54: 4—17
⁴ Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.
⁵ For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
⁶ For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.
⁷ For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.
⁸ In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.
⁹ For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
¹⁰ For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.
¹¹ O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.
¹² And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.
¹³ And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.
¹⁴ In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
¹⁵ Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.
¹⁶ Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.
¹⁷ No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Acknowledgments
I would like to thank all those people in my world that helped me through some very dark days. You supported me until the battle within me was over. Each of you is special and helped me in a different way that I needed at that particular time. I know that I am right where God wants me to be—in the center of His will—in the midst of you!
I am so grateful to my mother for helping me with this story, especially for her words of wisdom—from one woman to her young daughter. I also appreciate the last minute
help from my friend, Robert Barchanowicz. Your input as a reader was just what I needed to finish this work.

Preface
This is a whimsical story created when my soul was bared before God. The Scripture verses are printed out for your ease in reading and in following the story’s life application. This is the Word of God internalized. The intention is not to offend anyone; rather, it is to make you think about your own relationship with God. As you read this story, keep in mind what the Lord was doing, not what the characters involved were doing. We all make mistakes; however, we don’t have to let those mistakes defeat us, drag us down, or determine our future. We do learn and grow, and we help others in the process. As long as there is life, there is hope. Therefore, we can be sure that another chance will present itself for us to do things differently.
As for this writer, with this experience, I have no desire to participate in the worldly pleasures that God intended for the holiness of marriage. Opportunities are always there, and someone has to be strong in the face of that temptation. It starts in the heart—in the thought life. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. There is a great deal of self-confidence that comes when we safeguard our dignity and purity. It is a matter of living life on a higher plane.
This is not easy believe-ism.
Perhaps if one would read the printed Scriptures in sequence, one would find a story in itself, maybe even your own story.
Scripture References
Preface
Matthew 6: 1—21
¹ TAKE heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
² Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
³ But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
⁴ That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
⁵ And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
⁶ But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
⁷ But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
⁸ Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
⁹ After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
¹⁰ Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
¹¹ Give us this day our daily bread.
¹² And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
¹⁴ For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
¹⁵ But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
¹⁶ Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto
