Indeed, morality comprises three factors of the Noble Eightfold Path (right speech, right action, and right livelihood) and undergirds the precepts of the monk or arhant in Theravada Buddhism as well as the vows of the bodhisattva in Mahayana forms of Buddhism.
(4) The setting for the discourse is not a conclave of thousands of perfected arhants, celestial bodhisattvas and other assorted quasi-deities on the semi-mythical Vulture Peak, but a simple assembly of 1250 monks in the Jeta Forest near Sharvasti.
