Intraductal tubulopapillary
neoplasm of the pancreas: an update from a pathologist's perspective.
This subset of cases also allowed us to calculate risk of malignancy (ROM) and risk of
neoplasm (RON) for different diagnostic categories in the classification system.
For the first time, we reported a series of Iranian patients with blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell
neoplasm and presented our current practice at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences.
Size of Hurthle cell
neoplasm is the only parameter which is predictive of malignancy.
Using the Delphi and the AJCC manual, 19 cases from June 2011 to December 2016 were evaluated and diagnosed with appendiceal mucinous
neoplasm using the WHO 2010 guidelines.
Pancreatic adenocarcinoma is an aggressive
neoplasm representing approximately 85-95% of pancreatic malignancies.
However, the infiltrative and metastatic behavior of the
neoplasm observed in the present report differs from previous studies in cats, in which meningiomas where solely composed of compressive masses (LU et al., 2003; MOTTA et al., 2012; HIGGINS et al., 2017).
The pathologic diagnosis was solid pseudopapillary
neoplasm of the pancreas.
Recently a study by Ohara et al19 published the nuclear expression of [beta] catenin with loss of E cadhenin in solid pseudopapillary
neoplasm and membranous plus cytoplasmic expression of [beta] catenin without loss of E cadherin on neuroendocrine tumors.
Immunohistochemical analysis is an indispensable aid in differentiating these tumors with similar morphology but a heterogeneous origin and subsequently variable clinical management and prognosis.1 A case report of spindle cell
neoplasm of neural origin developed after extraction of left mandibular first molar is described.
Rarely, neoplastic cells may show elongated cytomorphology and be arranged in fascicles or a storiform manner, mimicking a spindle cell
neoplasm, such as a spindle cell sarcoma or sarcomatoid carcinoma.
The chance to find effective targeted therapies furtherly strengthens the need for complete characterization of this
neoplasm.
Solid pseudo-papillary tumour of pancreas is a rare
neoplasm having a low malignant potential.
Microscopic examination section showed appendicular mucosa with ulceration and a
neoplasm arranged predominantly in submucosa and muscularis propria composed of glands and clusters of tumour cells.
About two-thirds are stage I at the time of diagnosis, and 10%-15% are bilateral, making dysgerminomas the only malignant germ cell
neoplasm with significant risk for bilaterality.
