* When a scope aims at an alignment star, always wait for the beep or flashing readout (indicating the slew has finished) before hitting any motion button to center the star.
* Pressing one direction button then holding down the opposite direction button accelerates a slew to full speed, a shortcut to Rate 9 speed without having to divert your attention to the numeric keypad.
You then slew to this star, center it, then slew back to your main target.
When the motors slewed at the top speed the mount took less than a minute to move between objects on opposite sides of the sky.
After you initiate a slew, and while the motors are ramping up to full speed, you can hit a button and the telescope stops accelerating and stays at the chosen rate.
