Anthrocon 2019
Posted 5 years agoTime for my twice-a-year journal!
I'll be at Anthrocon with my gf PrincessRei, find me at K10 with the big ARA banner for some books, prints, dakis, or just to say hi! Or trade me some regional Pokemon on PokemonGO... hah
I don't use journals here often. It's cumbersome and easy to get lost in seas of journals. My Twitter is much more up-to-date and kept.

Anthrocon 2018
Posted 6 years agoIt's been like 2 years since I've made a journal here.. idk, I didn't think people read them!
I'll be at AC this year in booth K10 with PrincessRei, dealing a few things like books, prints, dakis, primarily. If you're going, feel free to say hi! If you're not, I'm still working on getting some stuff added to my E-Junkie store, and need to add the rest, and can be found here: https://fluffkevlar.e-junkie.com/

Anthrocon Thank-you!
Posted 8 years agoThanks to all of you who stopped by my table and said hi, or picked up my new books at FurPlanet! I loved seeing so many! :D
People really liked Predators more than I thought. Not only did it sell out, but tons of people came by to mention it or compliment that they saw it. I'm pretty stoked about that! Not sure what my next con will be, but I hope to see a bunch of you again soon. I have some ideas to better my table already.

Dealing at Anthrocon 2016! New books!
Posted 8 years agoI'll be at AC in 2 weeks, sharing a table with the lovely ! This is the first time I'll have a dealer's table at a con, and with a good reason: I'll have quite a bit of physical merch stuff!
Prints: 11x17 poster prints of THESE WORKS images of mine, will have them in clear plastic sleeves for you to put them in. Possibly one or two more designs if I can manage it. Price will probably be something like $15 each or two for $25. If you're not going to AC, I'm gonna keep putting prints on InkedFur and put up a formal announcement for that once a number of designs are uploaded, but for now you can find what I do have uploaded here: http://inkedfur.com/creator/fluff-kevlar/ (and feel free to suggest certain works as prints, I want to know!)
Dakis: body pillow covers of THESE DESIGNS Carmelita (both nude and underwear[NEW], Krystal, and Shakti) Price for these will probably be $60-70 depending on the design.
Books: I have two new books! Both thanks to the guys at FurPlanet, you can pick up the print run of Predators of Kilimanjaro for $15, as well as my first portfolio book, 'Milestones' for $25, containing my more important hand-picked artwork from the start of my furry art in 2007 until mid 2012. For the books, you can get them one of several ways: You can either Pre-Order them from FurPlanet on their website, Pre-Order them from me personally using the Google Forms doc below, or you can pick it up at AC from either of us in person, in which case you DO NOT need to pre-order. Just come to AC and pick it up (while stock lasts). If you pre-order from me, or pick it up at AC, I can sign it for free if you like (idk, some people like that).
NOTE: Pre-Order is for people not going to AC but want the first run of the books. Picking them up in person at AC gets it earlier than pre-orders because it doesn't need to be shipped. Both FurPlanet and myself will ship out pre-order copies right after AC, though mine may take a bit longer since I'll likely need to get extra copies from them shipped to me first. But the upside to pre-ordering from me is if you want a signed copy, or just to support me more directly, you can get it even if you're not going to AC, it will just ship a little later, if that makes sense. I just can't sign copies ordered from FurPlanet online.
Order From FurPlanet-
Predators: https://furplanet.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=862
Milestones: https://furplanet.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=863
Commissions: I'll likely be taking a few commissions too, nothing extensive, perhaps lightly inked/coloured digital or a few traditional sketches if people show interest. I can't take too many, maybe 5-6 for the weekend, since making comics and pinups and stuff via Patreon takes up most of my time these days.
So if you're going, awesome! If not, you can still order books from either me or FP, and dakis from me (I'll get a new order sheet up for that soon), and prints from InkedFur.

Elliott's Spring Gathering 2016, Vegas
Posted 9 years agoHey guys n gals, I neglected to make a journal for FWA, but it was great to see a lot of you there! Now that it's over, I wanted to make sure I made a journal about the next event I'll be attending(and highly reccommend); Elliott's Spring Gathering!
ESG is a weekend of parties, events, and activities great for going with friends and to see what their local vicinities offer! Events last year in Orlando included the Orlando Eye, Downtown Disney with a private Avengers screening, parties, food, and swimming all at the hotel, while past years events like Disney park trips, Brazilian BBQ and water parks were the main focus.
This year ESG returns to Las Vegas, Nevada, at the really cool Palms Casino Resort, filled with pools, slots, food court, theatre and a short walk to the Vegas strip. The plan is I'll be there along with other artist friends of mine like Gunmouth, Tsampikos, Caltroplay, Gideon, Bonk, MaxBlackrabbit, Gnaw and more in the Artist Alley.
The event is May 6-8th, and registration is 65$ until April 20th, and 75$ after that until May 4th. There is NO on-site registration. The admission price goes toward the attractions, events, parties and food at some of which.
If you're interested, check out https://elliottsliveevents.org for more info!
Leave a shout if you plan on heading there; it'd be great to see new and old faces!

Thanks for 30 Thousand watches!
Posted 9 years agoI don't pay attention to this number all that much, but someone mentioned it to me that I passed it. Kinda neat milestone I guess! Comments and other support matters more to me, I like words and thoughts, feedback rather than pure numbers, but it's nice to know so many watch my work. If I can pass on any kind of benefit or inspiration to others I hope to keep doing that, even if ..uh.. I'm not really sure how. I kinda thought to draw something for this, but I'm not the fastest and seem to put quality over quantity meaning I only get X amount of work done, but I am pretty happy with most of what I do there.
So thanks!
So thanks!
MFF
Posted 9 years agoI'll maybe see you there? Haha, idk. I really wanted to get a few things done in time for the con, but since I didn't I'll have to hold onto them until FWA, and while I'm not sure if I'll work MFF in AA, it's not out of the question. Probably find me hanging about with some friends. It's a good con though! So if it's your first time, have fun!
My Computer Died. Slow workings
Posted 10 years agoTechnically, just the main SSD died. But I'm being upgraded with the awesome support of so I'm just waiting on things in the mail. I'll be shoving stuff back into high gear once it's all back and set up, but just in case folks were wondering, that's where I've been and why things have been slow.
I have a Wacom Companion now so that'll be neat to take digital commissions with at ESG, AC, MFF etc. I'll probably be offering flat colour sketches and some other things this way, and given the comic and pinup work I'm taking on, I think that might be the only big way to get work from me at the moment, but I'm trying to push through! So if you're waiting for me to open or something, I know it will be awhile, but I'll get there.

Elliott's Spring Gathering 2015!
Posted 10 years agoHey folks, now that FWA is over and calmed down, if you haven't heard already, Elliott's Spring Gathering is a yearly event experience catering to a more tightly knit audience of furs than large scale cons.
Events in the past have been movie theater bookings, Brazilian steakhouses, water parks privately reserved, trips to Disney, theme parks, a huge variety of guests of honor from all over tv, movie, and fandom genres alike. Not to mention more face to face time and interaction with some awesome artists if you wanted, since there's not a loud, crowded type dealers room. I will be one of them, and the others are folks like Gideon, Gunmouth, Bonk, Solidasp, WFA, Patto, Cooner, and even Keihound from across the pond.
This year ESG is back in Florida, at the B Resort and Spa in Lake Buena Vista , from May 8th to the 10th. Standard registration is 65$.
To get more information about the event, visit the site at https://elliottsliveevents.org/
There is NO on-site registration! you must sign up in advance at the website. Reg closes in 12 days on April 30th!
And let me know if you guys plan on going! It would be great to see new and old faces alike, just like at any con or event. I've only been once so far but it was pretty darn great.

Furry Weekend Atlanta
Posted 10 years agoSo this weekend, in Atlanta, is furries. Self-explanatory title, right?
Well I'll be there. No idea if I'll be in the AA, maybe, but I'd be taking at-con, traditional stuff only (since I don't have something like a digital sketchbook...yet), but regardless, if you want to say hi or just announce you'll be there, say so! Always happy to meet new and old faces alike. It's at a new larger hotel this year thank gods, but if you can make it, I promise it's a great, large con.

Back from MFF; Updates and Future Plans
Posted 10 years agoWelp, I had a good time at MFF for the most part, other than the obvious (evacuating the whole hotel at 1am for 3 hours into the cold). It was great meeting new and old faces, so if I saw you there, thanks for stopping by! I have a few take-home digital commissions I'm gonna get on right away. I had long chats with my good friends, got lots of tips and ideas from them, particularly about comics.
I've never done comics before, and often I wonder what kind of thing would be best to do first, simple test pages? Stories unrelated to my main? That kinda thing. and how I might send them to print or get funded. I'll perhaps gear my Patreon towards that when I can.
I got sick with the flu as soon as I was leaving, so I feel a bit out of it. But in the coming days I'll upload a bunch now that the notification system works again. This month is always a bit hard to work around with the holidays, but I'll be working on getting owed pieces done and getting rid of my backlog. I still have some I promised from AC I'd do, so if you're one of them, note or email me about it or I'm likely going to clear that list.
Future con plans are always FWA and AC. Had a thought about TFF but unlikely...there's just a lot of work I want to get done, making a book or otherwise. Still waiting on some merchandise like the Krystal Daki (sorry it's taken so long to get those in, I'm still waiting)
Anyway, thanks for stickin' around, I always appreciate the support and comments!

November color sketch commissions - Closed
Posted 10 years agoEDIT: Time up! Will draw names and contact people.
October is almost over, and Winter is Coming. This journal will be posted across my four main galleries and thus, PLEASE REPLY VIA EMAIL! Email is reliable, it doesn't go down(unlike the sites, as we all just saw), it's easy to do back-and-forth, updates, etc. The email and info you need is below.
I am opening 7 single-character and 3 two-character colour sketch slots for the month of November. Less than last month as I'm going to spend more time finishing full commissions. The info you need to send is:
In the subject line: Specify 1 or 2 character.
Visual references: No text-description-only characters, sorry. Links to refs are okay, but attaching files is greatly preferred.
BRIEF description, or picture reference, of the pose/idea/theme/keywords you want me to go off of.
RATING: G-X
Your PayPal/Square Cash info. I will be sending out invoices when the people have been picked.
Your Patreon name, if one.
How it'll work:
1. I leave these journals up until October 30, noon EST, at which time check my email, put all the names into a virtual number generator.
2. I email everyone with the results if they were picked or not by the system.
3. Once you get your confirm email, you will also get an invoice, if using PayPal.
4. I will work on these throughout the month, in order of invoices paid.
5. I send you the picture via email, highest size, and make sure it's accurate and good.
And we're done! It's a short process. These are one-off coloured sketches; no back-and-forth changing a bunch of stuff. If you trust my judgement, there should be no problem.
Rules and Price:
1. Prices are 60 for 1 character, 90 for 2. Really complex markings, or extras like wings, general character complexity, etc., will be gauged from 5-15 extra on a per-image basis, I'll include it in the invoice.
2. My Terms of Service apply. http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/5183382/
3. Patreon donors get bonus entries for each tier they're confirmed for paying for, as a bonus. New Patrons, sorry, but since you can change tiers at any time, I will only count Patrons who's donations have already been successfully charged. 5$/month patrons will get 1 extra entry, and 10$/month patrons will get 2.
That should cover 99% of questions I think. They are open, send me an email as you like, if you are interested. These are colour sketches, I will do this every month(i hope) and possibly offer a more permanent slot at a higher price later on if people are interested.

October Colour Sketch Commission Slots CLOSED
Posted 10 years agoEDIT: This is closed for October, but leaving it up for records.
October is here, and in light of removing coloured sketches from my Patreon, as promised I'm going to open them up here. This journal will be posted across my four main galleries and thus, PLEASE REPLY VIA EMAIL, NOT COMMENTS. I can't go through four sites and Patreon scouring for everyone's info. The email and info you need is below.

That should cover 99% of questions I think. They are open, send me an email as you like, if you are interested. These are colour sketches, I will do this every month(i hope) and possibly offer a more permanent slot at a higher price later on if people are interested.

Fluff-Kevlar commissions - no more waitlist, How-to's, etc
Posted 10 years agoI've decided to clear that waitlist at the foot of my journal.
I so rarely open for commissions it seems (heck, last time I did it was October last year...) that having a waitlist just seems ridiculous, it's also a big hassle and a blight on my page, personally. It'll just be easier to submit your interest and idea when I open for them via journal, speaking of which...
How to Commission Me
I will open with a journal. Maybe on other sites, too. The journal will remain up for a while, usually a few days. It'll be in the title. I'll provide a sheet or link to examples to use as estimates.
Keyword is estimates, you'll E-MAIL me, including:
The type of commission, as listed by name/example on my commissions page.
Number of characters.
Rating: G-X
Background: something specific(simplified, no extra cost), something specific but detailed(extra), or none.
Description and references.
From there, I'll go through and pick the submissions and respond via email with an official quote. Notes suck. I don't like them for commissions.
I am not open at the moment just giving you guys a heads-up that there is no wait list, and that when I open it won't be first-come-first-served. I plan to open up some soon. Thanks!

SonicFox 1ch, Full Clr 100
LordOmni 1ch, Full Clr 100
Krystal Daki Interest List:
Setsune
Ataksipain
Notes:
The quotes are estimates, and might change, though shouldn't be by much. I can negotiate if needed.
These will be done in this order, the order they were taken in. If you can't afford, or want to be removed for whatever reason, just let me know and I'll take you off. Hopefully I'll get through most of these by the end of the month, but we'll see.
Con commissions precede the waitlist, are not transferable, etc. if I don't have your info, get it to me ASAP or I'll sadly have to skip over you and won't come back to it. I apologize! But I feel bad enough as it is for the folks waiting so long already, I had to cap the take-home digitals at 10 slots, that won't be re-filled. If you have any questions, note me.
I'm trying my best to be fair and please everyone, so if you have a suggestion, complaint or such, let me know that too, and I'll try to accommodate.

Patreon in Progress
Posted 10 years agoNext month i'm going to launch Patreon as a method, primarily, for two things: a way of receiving HD versions of my images, and unseen or in-progress stuff. As well as a way to support me, without taking on too much extra work, some ideas that I had in mind for the site were simply nice bonuses for the donating. But, like the YCH and other stuff, I'm curious as to what you guys think.
As it stands, it is under a 'monthly' option rather than a 'per-image' option, to just make costs simple. It's adult work, so you cannot use PayPal to subscribe to it. The bonus ideas are things like:
- HD image sizes
- unposted images and sketches
- WIP image snapshots
- patreon raffles and streams
- voted per-month image
- ask ARA tumblr/blog
- PSD files
This is essentially an 'extras' site, and not a method to use for primary commissions or generate a huge amount of traffic or business. This is stuff you'd like to see from me without me taking on so much more work that it'd be inefficient. So I'm curious what things you guys like seeing on these sites, if you use them at all, clever rewards or how much HD images per month sounds like a nice price to get ahold of? That kinda thing.

YCH Auction and options, opinions.
Posted 10 years agoSo I put up my first YCH ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13742633/ ) for a few reasons, one I can't take regular work atm, so letting it run while I cannot, and just to give a different option for folks trying to get work from me and don't want to wait, etc.
The thoughts I had were this: I'm not going to do YCHs alone, I think they're a bit different than regular commissions, so you can still get those from me, they're just going to be rarer and a bit of luck and/or waiting to get to, while YCH are a guaranteed thing with a specific delivery window and quality.
To me, there are several different types of YCH:
1. Solo character
2. 2 characters, winner claims both character slots
3. 2 characters, different winners for each slot
4. 2 or more characters, one is one of my own already drawn in, and the winner(s) claim partnership with them
My question for you all is this: which of these four types would you like to see more of? I'll try them all eventually, but I'm curious as to which are the most interesting. Number 3 offers the chance to be paired with a random person(not necessarily adult), and 4 offers the chance to be paired with one of my own characters, or a fan-fav character like Krystal,Rena, etc. (again not necessarily adult).
That's all. Just a simple little curious inquiry.
In other news, got prints and stuff, prepping for Anthrocon in Pittsburgh, stop by and say hi in the Artist Alley! No artbooks yet sadly, but plans to make one or two in the next year.

[Krystal Daki !]Order pickups at AC, and Open
Posted 10 years agoBunch of people were asking about the Krystal dakimakura still, and I'll be at AC, so, send me a note if you're interested in picking one up there and I can probably put in an order beforehand and you can pick them up there. 75USD, won't have to deal with shipping and stuff.
Even if you're not going to AC, throw me a note if you're interested, I'll gather up all those interested and order all these at once, send em out after AC to the people that didn't go.

Orders for Wallscrolls, Posters, Daki, etc? also, Anthrocon
Posted 10 years agoI've never really been into the merchandise section of the fandom. I've never really sold prints, folios, etc. At least, myself directly. I'm working to make a few of these things and I NEED to know a few things from you guys.
Things like:
What kind of merchandise would you actually buy?
Wall scrolls, Posters, Dakimakura, prints, and stickers are the things I'm thinking of that I'd make. I've looked into, and have producers and sites in mind readily to make any of these, and/or just sell them myself at conventions, but, if you had the funds, and the design was good, would you actually buy any of these, and which ones? I'm just getting a feel for the reception.
What rating?
Clean, G stuff to show off publicly? or adult/sexual stuff just as much/no one's gonna see it?
How much would you actually pay for said things?
If I had to guess, I'd sell them as follows. Daki=70 USD, posters=40 USD, prints=5 USD, stickers=2 USD
What would you buy things OF?
My OCs? ARA, Vikna, Nytro, etc. Fanart characters? Abstract/misc. designs or characters?
just getting a feel for what watchers like, that's all. Hypothetical stuff! Nothing's in stone yet.

Quick, simple poll ideas for fanart characters
Posted 10 years agoI need a good list of popular furry/anthro/animal characters from tv, movies, games, etc. I need 34 of them, specifically. Like Krystal, Renamon, etc.
Problem is, I don't know that many, to fill that list, so throw in names or characters here if you'd like them to be considered and drawn by me in the future! Every bit helps! Idea for a future project.

Sketch Commissions, Week 4/28-5/2
Posted 10 years agoIn trying to push myself to draw more every day and keep up a good schedule, work ethic, and talent, I'm going to do a sketch commission each weekday (mon-fri). Paid for now, uploaded to FA when done. Details below:
There are going to be special guidelines for the Weekday Sketches.
The IMPORTANT info:
- Price 20/one character, 35/two. No colour, just sketch.
- Paypal or Square. fkevlar at gmail d0t com
- Do not send payment til i reply to your comment or I will reject it.
- Include your username somewhere in the Paypal payment, if it isn't obviously your username, etc. Username only. No other info needed. Thanks!
The extra info:
- First 5 people to comment saying they'll take one or more (slots are not limited, you could take all 5 if you wanted to), i'll reply confirming your slot and bam, you're good to go for this week.
- These will take between 1-2 hours each, as warm-ups before my primary commissions and work
- You may turn it into a full commission later down the road if you wish, or have another artist finish it. If it comes back to me, i'll subtract the price from your total estimate.
- This might bother some of you but... NO REVISIONS. There are one-offs. Unless I miss something -huge- like you tail or ears, I'm not going back to fix anything. I will upload them here at their biggest size each day as I do them and note you with the link so you don't miss it.
- Comment here with a link to your character(s) artwork(no text desc. please), the RATING G-X, and a sentence or two describing them or what you'd like to see. KEEP IT SIMPLE PLEASE. I'm not going to do backgrounds, elaborate outfits, crazy or insane poses... these aren't full on, time-consuming commissions, they're a quick exercise for me, and cheap nifty sketches for you!
- I will take 5 each week, and post a journal each weekend beforehand about them. These do not interfere with my normal commission waitlist.

Elliott's Spring Gathering, Vegas 2014 - Update/Extended Reg
Posted 11 years agoThough registration and reservation for the con and hotel ended a few days ago, it's been re-opened and is up for 10 more days! check out https://esg.elliottsliveevents.org/ for more info. Hotel is also, here: http://www.palms.com/ (they got the name palms.com , wow. What are the odds? i wonder who else wants that address)
So, thanks to that, It looks like I'll be getting to go to Elliott's this year! Hope to see a bunch of you there; come on over if you can, I always enjoy meeting new folks at every con I go to.
May 9-11, the Palms Casino Resort in Vegas. Can also follow em on Twitter too, at ElliottsEvents. Still don't know everyone else that's goin', and never been myself, so it'll be fun times all around from what I hear.
