I didn't know Dragoneer personally, but I dont think I could have gotten my start as a furry without his website. Long before I even had an account I was lurking around enjoying the art and writing here. It definitely had a big influence on my life and helped me cultivate an interest in becoming a furry myself.
honestly wish I could have talked to him, I would have thanked him for creating furaffinity.
My heart goes out to his friends and family, while i may not have known Dragoneer he had a huge impact on the furry community as a whole and touched a lot of people's lives.
I wanna keep this part brief because it's ultimately unimportant.
I've seen words going around saying that the future of furaffinity is uncertain, so just in case this site goes down, of you'd like to follow me elsewhere I'm primarily active on twitter HoneyCowArt and HoneycowAD

Addressing the elephant in the room
Posted 3 years ago(Edit: Quotes in paragraph 2 were changed because they were giving off the wrong idea. They're all things that have really been said to me, but this isn't a journal trash dunking people who are just curious or don't understand. This is addressing transphobia)
This may be a bit rambly but hopefully it makes sense
The comments about my gender like "that isnt what a trans man looks like, thats a woman", "men don't have breasts like that", and so on are inappropriate and some of yall out there really gotta stop
Not only are they hurtful its also totally unnecessary, people act like I'm some kind of circus freak because I'm FTM and still like my feminine attributes
In my art and art i buy, Anthony the cow is FTM also, assigned female at birth transitioning to male. He wants to transition and is in the process, but he doesn't let dysphoria stop him from dressing however he wants. He is happy and people respect him for who he is, they don't pick apart his identity and speculate on if he's really trans or not. He's happy, promiscuous, and confident.
Literally the exact same thing applies to my other fursona Honey
That's what I want to experience irl but unfortunately circumstances are preventing. Just because i don't draw a lot of dark vent art about my struggles or post a lot about how my mind is in a dark place doesn't mean it isn't happening.
I shouldn't have to justify myself and why i draw/present myself the way i do, but there's some people who can't take a hint and have to have it spelled out for them.
I want people who are bewildered by my gender to take a second and think, would you still think this way if i had a dick between my legs? Or are you just shocked and bewildered because you see a pussy and short circut?
Now obviously this isn't directed at everyone who follows me or comments. Most of yall are great and I'm forever thankful for that. This is just directed at those who can't seem to keep their transphobic comments to themselves.
My art isn't some kind of political statement or debate. Its just a reflection of myself irl where i can escape and be happy. the real world isn't very friendly to trans people, and i feel like art is one of the only places i can authentically be myself
Hopefully i don't have to keep addressing this over and over, ive just noticed some nasty comments on some things recently and I'd like to nip it in the bud

Updates and delays
Posted 3 years agoSorry no WG drive update today!! I wasn't able to work on it this week unfortunately.
I will be posting an update soon though, and it's likely gonna be my last. I haven't met my goal yet but my drive updates haven't been performing well in the algorithm, and i just don't really feel like it's worth continuing
This is nobody's fault, i appreciate EVERYONE who liked/rt'ed/commented etc, sometimes posts just get fucked over by the algorithm not promoting art, and that's ok.
Instead I'm going to be selectively opening commissions. It'll be only 1 or 2 at a time because art time is a bit scarce rn, since i have to share the computer with two other people.
That being said, now you can commission my ocs with yours in nsfw art! Before i only did it on rare occasions with YCHs, but now if you want our characters to boink eachother they can!
I'll open for comms on my twitter, GoldieScales and GoldieScalesAD! Keep an eye out for that

If you requested a commission recently i have sent a response and i will be adding you to my queue after payment.

Experimental bust commissions open!

This one is much different than my normal art, instead of thick clean lines i use a thin brush and use sketchy lines and messy shading. I took a few of these on my Patreon for free, and i feel confident in this style enough to officially take them as commissions!

Posted 5 years agoOk so, this is a sorta life update. Heads up for those sensitive to death. I Didn't feel comfortable posting this on my twitter because of the character limit and i didn't wanna spam people with my personal issues, so I'm putting it in a journal here
Around the middle of last month a close family member started getting really sick out of nowhere, and my family and i have spent last month and all of this one doing what we can to help out. As of yesterday she passed away, so we are now working on all the preparations for the funeral, visitation, etc. This plus the stress of trying to get away from my parents is keeping me really tired and worn out, so that's why my art production is getting less and less abundant. I'm still working! Just at a slower rate than I'd ever anticipated.
For reference, I should have been moved out months ago, and if I'm not there by November I'm not sure if I'll get an opportunity.
I haven't forgotten commissions though! I'm still working hard and getting things done, I should have updated sooner but it keeps slipping my mind. I will try to keep people informed more from now on.

Posted 5 years agoI have had my commissions closed for longer than i ever have before, but for good reason, as there has been LOTS of stressful things going on in my life that has been making my art production slow to a crawl.
I have taken a small handful of private comms and patreon things, but not officially opened because I've been afraid that people would be upset with me taking so long.
If you are ok with a semi-long wait (3-4 weeks or more) then keep an eye out for my next openeing!! I will most likely only take a limited number of comms
