GAME OF THE YEAR 2015
Posted 9 years agoGAME OF THE YEAR 2015
It's now time for the mods of Xbox Furries to look back on 2015 and say what game released this year, that we enjoyed playing the most.
Dannflor-316 - Fallout 4
"At first I couldn't really decide on what to pick. Since I got my XBone at the beginning of this year, I noticed that game-wise there wasn't really much on offer. Gears Of War Ultimate was just a remake of the first GOW with an HD paintjob and I wasn't all that impressed with Battlefield Hardline either. Hell, the only reason I showed any interest in COD Blops 3 was for it's zombie mode. However, there were two games on Xbox that peaked my interest and they were, Destiny; The Taken King and Fallout 4. Destiny; Taken King is what got me into Destiny properly and I relished in going to rundown cosmo-dromes and moon bases to take on The Darkness, but I wasn't immersed as much as I have been with Fallout 4. I'm a big fan of the Fallout series as a whole and there are some things I love about Fallout 4 and some things I hate. The settlement building does come across as pointless when you first start out (but you do get experience from it), no skill point system, no Karma mechanic and when it comes to plot I think that New Vegas had the best storytelling of the series. But it's still Fallout and once you get into it, it will eat up all of your spare time. I forgive the bugs and glitches because Fallout 4 presents itself so well. I know it added little to the licensed music soundtrack, but with resource gathering there's no better reason to get out there and explore the wasteland! After I'm done posting this I'm gonna play it some more. Please Bethesda, give this to Obsidian Entertainment and let them work their magic!"
NFSRacer - Just Cause 3
"I know HALO 5 Guardians came out, and I've been doing my let's play of it, but Just Cause 3 took the cake as the best game on Xbox this year in my books! It was by far the most unstable game Square Enix had released, but it was likewise by far the most entertaining! I never get tired blowing the bad guys up, or sending off a nuke from a shoulder-mounted launcher just to take out one guy! And, oh all the Easter eggs to behold...!"
cody_snowmew - Dying Light
"For me I really enjoyed Dying Light a lot because of it's open world parkour and it's one of the best zombie games I've played."
kaahl - Battlefield 4

Posted 9 years agoHey, guys! nfsracer here!
I've just recently gotten HALO 5 Guardians for the One, and started playing that, and have also been working on making a commentary series of it! Keep an eye out, guys, because I'm going to be playing through the entire campaign, and doing a short little review of the multiplayer, too!

Need For Speed 2015 Beta is Live!
Posted 9 years agoHey, guys! nfsracer here!
Just found out today that the Need for Speed 2015 Beta is live! For those who sought entry into the closed beta, be checking your emails now! This game is fabled to be the best Need for Speed since the 2003 to 2006 Need for Speed games that were made by Black Box EA (Underground, Underground 2, Most Wanted 2005, and Carbon, for those who don't know)!
I'm SOOOOOO pumped to play this game now!
I will not be posting any vids or picture of the game, however, until its final release. Unfortunately, EA asked all closed beta testers to refrain from doing that until the official release. Thus far, however, I've been following it over the past 2 months, and the game looks SOOOOO kick-ass, it's WELL worth the $60 for admission!
Let me know what you guys think! Are you excited for the new 'Underground 3', as some fans are describing it to be? Or would you prefer Ghost Games not even bother with the franchise at all, and leave it to some other developers?

Battlefront 2015: Reactions?
Posted 9 years agoHey, guys! nfsracer here!
So, I know this isn't a StarWarsFurs group, however this is something that's been niggling me for a little while. After looking further into the new Star Wars Battlefront 2015 developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts, I've found EA and DICE are keeping out a full on Single Player story mode, as well as the entire Clone Wars Era and the idea of space battles, too. Based on what I've seen from EA and Walt Disney, I personally think this is a bad move for them, as it means they're bound to milk the shit out of the game to try to make a killing, which considering EA's overpricing practically all DLC for all the games they offer, might as well be us burning money in hopes that we get something good our of it.
I'd like to know what everyone thinks about this choice by DICE and EA? Do feel free to put it down in the comments, as this can be something big that affects us as gamers!

Battlefield Hardline Let's Play
Posted 10 years agoHey, guys! nfsracer here!
I've recently started doing Battlefield Hardline as a story-based Let's Play! Check it out, guys! I plan on doing a multiplayer review after the story is done!
Additionally, I'd like to ask: What do you guys think I should do with the game? Wait for DLCs to release and review them? Or do map walkthroughs for select game modes?
UPDATE:
If I do the reviews, know that it's going to be one where it's me showing clips of game play, and my talking about what makes the game good and bad. Keep that in mind, as it won't be my commentating about the game as I play it.

Dying Light is so much fun :D
Posted 10 years agoThis is going to be my first review of a game, so be kind. x3
I bought dying light a few days ago and I must say it's probably the best zombie game I've played in a while. I love the fact that I could parkour around the city and get up to high places, it's kinda like infamous in a way. The story is decently long and there are twice as many side missions as well. The real scare factor becomes known once night time hits, I've never had my heart pumping as hard as it did when it becomes so dark you can barely see anything. The fun factor increased when I joined other games or played with friends. You can have challenges in game and have fun smashing zombies left and right together. If anyone is looking for a new game I highly suggest giving this one a try. For those who have played it, what did you think? :3

New Gaming Commentary Channel
Posted 10 years agoHey, guys! nfsracer here!
Sorry I've not made a journal in some time, and I do apologize, but college, plus two jobs, and a video game commentary don't exactly make for a quiet life style. For this, I do apologize for having taken some time to get this done, but I'd like to alert you guys of a new development that most of you really might like!
I know certain games have been released that I promised to do Twitch Livestreams of, but due to my life style, I've not had the chance to do that. So, I'm going to let everyone know I recently got a capture card and even started doing video game commentary as of the middle of last year as a bit of a hobby. Now, I mention this because my capture card as recently given me the ability to do Xbox One Let's Plays as well, and collabs, too! Thus far, I've only had three Xbox One vids uploaded, two of HALO with a close friend of mine, just messing around and having fun in it, and another of Trials Fusion, which I did a Twitch Livestream of a while back. I'd like to invite you guys to check them out and let me or the rest of the group know what you think! Also, feel free to spread the word about my channel! I'll be doing the new ODST DLC when it releases for the Master Chief Collection, and be doing either a full-length Let's Play, or another collab Let's Play with my same friend. So, be expecting something from it!
Otherwise, figured I'd come back and say 'Hi' to everyone here once more, and that I've not dropped off the face of the Earth!

Sandy's New Xbox One
Posted 10 years agoA journal by Dannflor-316
Fourteen days ago, I finally did it and bought myself an XBONE. During last year I was very tempted to say "fuck it" to the so called "console war" and just buy myself a gaming PC. In fact, there was a lot of things that really got under my fur regarding this whole debate and I will admit that when Microsoft came out at E3 2013 and said that the XBONE will require a constant internet connection and will have an in-built kill switch regarding pre-owned games was pretty stupid. However on reflection, there was nothing I really wanted when it came to a PS4. I had both a PS1 and PS2, but the PS3 didn't have anything to offer me.
So anyway, the XBONE. First impressions were bad. Let's get one thing straight OK Microsoft, why did you give this console such a miniscule hard-drive when some of the games released eat up so much space? Halo MCC took up about %15 of the drive space and that's not including all the apps I had to download again. Another thing, having to "update" my controller just to get my headset to work? WTF? And if that wasn't enough I first found the operating system really confusing. I had to phone a friend of mine to ask how to un-snap messages, etc. from the screen. What I found most frustrating is that the entire functionality of the XBONE seems to revolve around "the app". For example, if I wanted to use the Blue-Ray player I must first download the app. I want to watch the terminal videos on Halo; MCC, I must first download the "Halo Channel" app. I was starting to think if this console gaming's brave new world then I don't want anything to do with it.
After about a week, I managed to get my brain into gear and get used to my new console. It's not as prompt as the old 360, but I do like the extra security features on it. I actually do regret not getting it with the kinect system because I find the notion of the voice recognition system very quaint and making the VC system a part of added security features is a good idea. If only it would gave me Tea, Earl Grey, Hot.
On reflection, I haven't really been buying or showing much interest in the games being produced for it but I have bought lots of BR movies. I am still gonna keep my 360 because there are games that I bought for my 360 that I still have an interest in playing and there still a few games out there on 360 but not XBONE that I still want to play. So apart from some hiccups and some baffling design choices regarding hardware and OS, I'd say it was £300 well spent. I'm just praying the disc drive doesn't give out in the next few months.

GAME OF THE YEAR 2014
Posted 10 years agoHey everyone. It's that time of year where 2014 closes and we have a retrospective look at what games we mods enjoyed playing this year.
Dannflor-316 PLANTS VS ZOMBIES: GARDEN WARFARE
"The most fun I've had online in a long time.A game that reminded me so much of "Conker; Live & Reloaded", a little more kiddy friendly in tone, but looking like something intended for a younger audience is not a bad thing. It just adds to it's charm."
jwolfsky A TIE BETWEEN; DESTINY AND HALO: THE MASTER CHEIF COLLECTION
kaahl CALL OF DUTY: ADVANCED WARFARE
"It had its' rough spots at the start but im very, pleased with it over all and look forward to making new friends while growing my clan. Looking forward to the new zombie mode coming in jan 2015."
NFSRacer HALO: THE MASTER CHEIF COLLECTION:
"I'm likin' the Halo Master Chief collection, however only for one key thing: How the developed it. From a technical standpoint, what 343 did is an achievement unto itself, as they quite literally sewed together 4 video game engines, as well as two additional graphics engines, plus content and features from all four games, and coding from all four games and put it together in a single game that has a singular UI base letting users pick between the four different games and content. That, from a technical standpoint, is what makes it GOTY in my opinion. As per what I liked about the game that made it so good was merely just the nostalgia effect the game gave. HALO 2, as well as all the other HALO titles featured in it, have never looked, or played, so good than I've ever seen before! HALO 2 Anniversary's new looks and cut-scenes look AMAZING in remastered mode, and even lead into the ideal that HALO 5: Guardians may end up being something truly big in the HALO arc! I'm SERIOUSLY going to be posting something up about the MP Beta later this week, for sure!"
What was your game of 2014? What games are looking forward to in the new year?
Hope you guys had a great christmas and we all wish a very happy new year!
PS Dannflor-316 Is getting his xbox one early next year.

Posted 10 years agoE3 2014 Microsoft Wrap-Up
Posted 10 years agoWell, we just saw this year's E3 coverage for Microsoft and XboxOne, and needless to say, there's a LOT of really good games coming out this year, and later in 2015 that's worth the buy! Microsoft was appealing to the classic Xbox360 users that enjoyed the console for just what it was: Games, games, and more games! Just what are you guys looking forward to? A few upcoming titles include new DLC Nurburgring for Forza Motorsport 5, new multiplayer DLC for Dead Rising 3, Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon 2, Witcher III Wild Hunt, Metal Gear Solid 5, Project Spark, a new Homefront game, Phantom Dust, Tom Clancy's The Division, Scalebound, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, Crackdown, Battlefield Hardline (though I didn't recognize the trailer), and even a new HALO remastered series, with the new HALO 5 Guardians, too!
This E3 is shaping up to be something well and truly awesome, guys! Any game you're looking forward to? List them below! I plan on reviewing as many as I can via Twitch as they release...And as I get the time. Best keep watching the group for further journal announcements regarding this matter!

Other staff members' picks:
kaahl hadn't yet seen the E3 conferences at the time of his picks, but naturally, like most of us here, he's looking forward to HALO 5: Guardians.
jwolfsky is amped up for HALO: Master Chief Edition, and I really can't blame him! 4 full-length games in one? Who wouldn't want that!
