[months later: tl;dr: no, they weren't legitimate, I was just surprised to see scammers operating on FA.]

I'd be interested to know if anyone else has been approached for commissions by  lylatheartist. They sent me a very nice complimentary note inviting me to go to Discord to discuss a commission of my character, but they have a new FA account with a few scattered favourites and no gallery, and googling the name only turns up an equally skimpy profile on DeviantArt.

In most environments that pattern of behaviour means a quick block-and-delete as either a scammer or a waste of time, but on the other hand I'm strongly averse to kicking people who may be sincerely trying to build up an art business.

On the other other hand, they might be approaching a lot of people, and spamming is a nuh-uh. Check out FA's CoC, it's Rule 3.4!

So my response is somewhere in a quadrant (legitimate/bogus, individual/spammer) with lots of encouragement and validation in one corner and a brisk "fuck off" in the other, and I'm curious to see where we'll end up.
