Latest skin for Anubis in SMITE, for which I did this splash art! It's interesting to me that they gave him a "life spirit" skin given who Anubis is, but then again I guess it adds a nice (and colorful) bit of variation to his roster. I had fun with this one!

Wow, I love the art so much! My first thought was "That ain't Anubis, that's a one tailed kitsune!" But nope, a skin for a game. Maaaaaaaaaaaan, that looks so amazing! The dynamics, the magical glow, the lighting and fur details, so much to love here!
Absolutely stunning work, the red outfit wonderfully contrasts with the background and suits the fur color as well. Also indeed it's interesting how they went against his nature of god of death, but I like the idea ^^
In any case it must have been an honor to draw something for Smite !

fantastic detail.
im just now starting painting and i have no clue how you guys get that much detail in a picture...it's mind boggling.

This looks incredible!! Just curious, have you ever done work for Paizo and their Pathfinder game?
It's a treat when I get to catch splash art that you've made for Smite. One of my friend's favorite splash art is the Frostbite Cerberus that you've done, and we're both hyped for this one. Awesome work. ♥
wonderful work
sometimes you can only see the reasoning after the story came to an end :3

Your work is so incredible and inspiring, it makes me so happy whenever I see a new post from you! <3
Wait wait wait is this going to be one of the Odyssey skins?! The "I need to get everything" switch just exploded I need this skin!
how did you get into professional illustration for smite and mtg?
I worked a lot of different jobs and got to know a lot of different people, and one thing kind of led to another over the course of many years until I ended up where I am now.
how neat! i'd love to be commissioned for such things some day once i get to that level but unfortunately art is not my main career, just a hobby i take seriously :)
Hey that's cool too! I do art professionally because I honestly don't really know what else I'd do - but there have been times when I wished it was still my hobby. You may not grow as fast, not having as much time to dedicate to it but there's also less pressure and you get to create whatever you like at your own pace :). And hey who knows, you may just end up doing work for Magic or D&D or similar sometime if you push in that direction, even if it takes a little longer.
is it possible to work on those sorts of things on the side without dedicating the daily 9-5 to it?
I’d say so, if you just took one at a time. You tend to get a pretty good amount of time to do one illustration (4-6 weeks). You’d just have to manage your availability well.
Yeah, my first thought when I saw it, was kitsune. Would fit the Japanese theme.
Really amazing and beautiful work. I love all the details on the foliage and his attire.

Dang, this makes me sad that I play Overwatch and not Smite, hahaha.
The background is beautiful, too. Combined with the tree branch on his staff, it makes me want to see this guy in an autumn scene.

Just amazing work, everything from the background to the detail of the items in focus
