The finale was spectacular. Easily the best episode of this season and top 3 for the show. The action scenes were an improvement compared to previous seasons. The direction was brilliant throughout and with great writing as always (the finale should be the submission for both categories). Everyone in the cast put on their A+ game and I’d love to see the show win SAG ensemble. But Jonathan Pryce was simply in a league of his own this season and I’d very much like to see him win the Emmy next year.

I genuinely enjoyed this season (and loved the finale), but I have to agree that it is by no means on the same level of quality as Season 3. At the same time, I think maybe it’s the fact that Season 3 raised the bar so high that it influenced my opinion?
Anyway, Lowden and especially Pryce were great in the finale and the Season 5 teaser got me really excited. Thank goodness Slow Horses gives us a season every year.

I actually wouldn’t be surprised if Apple dropped season 5 over the Summer during Emmy voting. Ever since season 2 they’ve started airing each season at least a month earlier than the last and season 4 started airing two months before season 3. If the trend continues season 5 could start airing as early as June.

Watched the finale today and sorry but season 4 > season 3. Actually sorry not sorry lol, just a tense and very paying finale. I loved it.

Amazing finale, and I think, overall solid season. This time there were not standout performances. I was a good ensemble work with solid work from Pryce and Lowden only in one scene of the final episode.
Pryce character is good, but it lacks a lot of screen time to really shine.
Scott Thomas was a very good presence, as always.
Very good action sequences.

The shows are based on Mick Herron’s novels about the British secret intelligence misfits at Slough House, overseen by Oldman’s unkempt rogue, the brilliant Jackson Lamb. More Herron novels are in the pipeline, which means seasons 7 and 8 are pretty much a certainty.
By my reckoning, seasons 7 and 8 of Slow Horses will shoot between September and October 2025.
