I'm following it up with an original Christmas story, and then I'll be writing a standalone story about a boy falling in love with his best friend's brother before going off to become famous. After that I've got something light and paranormal, followed by my next Dreamspun Desire series, Search and Rescue. So, lots of new and a little bit of old--all fun!(less)

It took me a bit to figure out what he was really about, and then it was SO SIMPLE. For the previous two books, the guys have all been Clopper. It was that simple-- my guys were the dog. Finn, with his puppyish enthusiasm, Adam with his feet splayed against any change, Derek with his patience, Rico with cautious, strong acceptance-- all of the guys were some aspect of Clopper.

Miguel is the dog. But Ezra is Jake. Ezra is Jake the cat. You pick him up and put him in a new place, and he just sort of curls up and sees if anything is going to eat him. And when something hurts him, he lashes out (witness how he "broke away" from his home life). It was fun writing it-- but Lollipop is a little longer than the other books, and it's because writing about dogs and dogs is really fast paced. My dogs roll around the house like a hurricane. But writing about cats and dogs requires a little more care. (less)

Other Places You can Find Me

So, I started this blog 15 and a half years ago--and I've loved it. I'm not quite ready to let it go in my heart--I mean, I've got a pretty solid record here, of my careers, of watching my kids grow up, of my animals. I've got some funny stories, and, hopefully, some insightful ideas on this site, and I've loved maintaining it.

But...

But this is my first post in six weeks.

And it's not that I

I know you worry about our letters and texts getting read--shades of WWII, haunting us still, I guess, and I'm well aware that nothing's safe on the internet. I worry too. You need to know that when I say it, when I ask you to say it, it's because my lungs feel full of dark water, and seeing it or writing it lets me breathe.”

I will hold you to that.” His face was grim and his voice was sober—he

Her lips were just as warm, and just as soft as he remembered, and her mouth tasted like peaches and cinnamon and Corinne Carol-Anne and without thought he pushed her back against the hallway wall and kissed her and kissed her and kissed her as though all their time apart would disappear in that frantic mating of tongue and lips and teeth. I love my dedicated readers! (Much better than "fan" I've always thought ;-) And if you're in the Sacramento area, check out our readings at the Lavender Library--we give one every three months or so, so there should be one in December-- there's an author's group that meets there for cookies and books :-) Thanks so much for reading!

Amy

Scott I have enjoyed your writing for quite a few years and am still working my way through your extensive library of work. I hate the term "fan" because it derives from "fanatic", and that's a bit much. You are a favorite artist of mine, no question. I also delight in the fact that you set much of your work in the Sacramento area, which is also where I live. It's nice to picture the familiar places in my mind when I am reading. I don't know you but I always think about you and your knitting in your craptastic mansion every time I am in Citrus Heights! Keep on keeping on!
Your non-fan admirer,
Raven.
