English through and through, Josephine Myles is addicted to tea and busy cultivating a reputation for eccentricity. She writes gay erotica and romance, but finds the erotica keeps cuddling up to the romance, and the romance keeps corrupting the erotica. She blames her rebellious muse but he never listens to her anyway, no matter how much she threatens him with a big stick. She's beginning to suspect he enjoys it.

The book has a different feel to both Junk and Stuff, as this time it's a battle of the tops. So much fun to write, and it will be released in March 2015 :)(less)

I so enjoyed writing that book and have always had a vague idea for a sequel in my head, but never seemed to have time to write it.

I haven't written any new books for a while now (blame my 2 1/2 year old son!) and was feeling all wrung out of ideas, but I have to admit, the idea of revisiting those three is very tempting. I'm not going to promise anything just yet, but I think I'll reread the book and see if it sparks off more definite ideas. Then I just have to find the time to write it...

So, that's a very definite "maybe" for you!(less)

Charlie is superb at welcoming people! You'll find the hotel well designed for your chair too, with wide straight corridors and large lifts. Jamie and I were really impressed with the disabled access there, and the staff are incredibly helpful :)

Josephine Myles Cole wrote:I really like getting out my markers and graph paper and making fair isle motifs :) That sounds so dorky, but I've always been fascinated with the his..."

I've never done any fair isle or intarsia - so far I've stuck to lacework patterns. I do like the idea of having a go, though - maybe I could start with something easy that I'd actually wear, like a broad headband.

In the past I've mainly knitted and crocheted presents for friends and family, but then there's always a time pressure to get them finished in time and it can stop me enjoying the process. I think from now on I'm going to make things for myself - which probably means lots of socks and headbands (I have way too much hair to fit it all under a hat without it looking ridiculous!)

My nan taught me to knit when I was a kid, but I didn't do it for years and have taught myself everything else from books since. I ended up learning the german knitting technique from the Stitch n' Bitch books, as it suits me to hold the yarn in my left hand like I do when crocheting. Supposedly it makes things faster, although I hadn't noticed - I think I may well be the world's slowest knitter :)

I'd love to see photos of some of your fair isle patterns - do you have any online?

message 9: by Cole

Cole Riann What sort of patterns do you like to create?

I really like getting out my markers and graph paper and making fair isle motifs :) That sounds so dorky, but I've always been fascinated with the history of knitting -- so I love like the different aran patterns that the Irish used to have per clan and I love the differences in Scandinavian color patterns. I think its beautiful. I also like to collect old knitting books, if I can find them. I have found some of the best patterns that way.

I mostly knit socks and hats, as thats what I wear and I rarely knit for anyone else, except a scarf here and there. Or some booties for a new baby. I'm great at making booties :) I learned to crochet from my grandmother when I was about 7, but I never really took it anywhere like I did with knitting. Its a nice pastime, it relaxes me.

Josephine Myles Cole wrote: "Hey Jo! I'll definitely be getting the sip then. Do you knit? Maybe we can share patterns :)"

Thanks!

I'm much better at crochet than knitting, but I've certainly dabbled... Recently it's all been socks for some reason. I haven't done as much as I used to, mainly because my yarn stash is all in the loft :(

What sort of patterns do you like to create?

message 7: by Cole

Cole Riann Hey Jo! I'll definitely be getting the sip then. Do you knit? Maybe we can share patterns :)

Aw, thanks! I have a real soft spot for Steve (and Jez) - they're the stars of my new Sip, "First Impressions", coming out from Torquere next Saturday (spot the shameless plug).

Anyone who would venture up onto a roof to rescue a kitten has got to be a hero - and knitting too? Perfection! ;D

Josephine Myles I've just finished the second draft of my first novel, so hopefully that will find a publisher for some time in 2011. And I have plans for novellas galore! Just need to find time to write them all...

I found your comments in that ratings thread really interesting too. It's provoked some strong reactions from readers - I had no idea it was such a controversial topic!

Valentina Heart I admit, I never would have thought of it if I hadn't seen some of your comments;) I love the way you think! Are there any longer stories in the works?

Thanks for accepting;D
