Who he got instead was the beautiful, young, single mother - Claire Russell. A woman who he is having a hard time keeping his eyes off of...

Claire never expected her new boss to be the most gorgeous man she's ever laid eyes on. She also never expected him to be sweet to her two year old son, Ethan. But Henry is her boss and there is no future with him. Or so Claire thinks...

Will Henry and Claire be able to fight the obvious attraction between them? Will Henry's overbearing mother come between them? Or will a freak accident change their perspectives on life and what's most important.

Andria Large is a traditionally published and self-published contemporary romance author. She doesn’t always follow the rules, so you will find both M/F and M/M books mixed into some of her series.

Henry from the Beck Brothers Series was the first book she self-published. Not expecting anything to really come of it, she was shocked to find the book caught wind and readers were asking for more. Writing books was not something she had set out to do. She wrote stories for herself, as a hobby. Now that it has become her career, she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Andria grew up in Philadelphia, but now lives in New Jersey with her two daughters and wonderfully supportive husband, who frequently accompanies her at signings. The events that she attends every year are one of her favorite things about being an author. She loves meeting and conversing with her readers, but also enjoys finding new ones.

Andria considers herself open and friendly, so feel free to send her a message if you have a question or just want to chat.

1.5 Noooo no no no!

I couldn't even get to 30% of the read, it was awful!
The story was from two different POVs, but they were exactly the same (and the guy sounded so damn feminine, it was annoying!).

The writing was bad (and I don't mean just the writing style...). Grammar, tenses (at one point the narrator's voice was in the present, then it changed to past, then back to present)... grammar! Proofread, people!

And gah, I didn't like the characters. They were so fucking annoying!
I couldn't even try too hard to finish the book.

3.25/5

This book had a lot of potential but somehow it just didn’t work out the way I hoped it would. There was nothing wrong with the plot per se. In fact, it was fairly good, but the lack of heart-wrenching drama made it too bland for my liking. Besides, I had a hard time connecting with two main characters. It seemed like most of the characters in this book were emotionally sensitive. They got overwhelmed easily. Women cried. Men cried. Tears were everywhere! I don't know... It just wasn’t what I expected.

However, I really enjoyed how the book revolved around the bonds of love among the family members as much as the romance between Henry and Claire. It was a good and fun read overall.

4 Short but Sweet Stars!!!

When I started reading this I was expecting a smutty read, boy was I wrong!
Claire is a single mother to her two year old son Ethan. On her first day as Henry Beck's personal assistant she realizes she may be in trouble. Why you ask? Well Henry is the hottest boss Claire has ever had.

Henry is immediately attracted to Claire, but won't pursue her because she is an employee. But fate has other plans and they are thrown together at every available moment, the last straw is when Henry runs into Claire while she's on a date and he realizes that he can't ignore he's feelings for her anymore.

This book was sooo cute, Henry and Ethan Claire's son were so adorable together! And even though the book is quite short, Henry and Claire's relationship progressed quite normally nothing happened overnight. And what can I say I love epilogues because they give that extra detail to a happy ending!

Henry (he did this thing with his hair when he got irritated)

Claire

And finally I had to add a picture of Ethan

First read 3rd April 2014 - 4****
Read 4th June 2015 - 5*****

So usually I try and avoid office roms and office trilogies as they all seem to be along the same plot lines. This book was lovely to read and I loved every moment of it. 4 Stars for the 1st Beck Brother.
Claire is a single Mom after the father of her child did a runner when he found out that there was a bun in the oven. Claire is finally getting back to work and starts her new job in an Advertising agency as Henry Becks personal assistant. Claire thinks that Henry will be an old fart and not an Adonis.

Henry Beck doesn't really have enough time for relationships as his work consumes his life. That is until he meets Claire and he was hoping that she was an old bag with bad breath. Claire is a bombshell.

Obviously they get along and their relationship develops but neither want to act on it due to work. Claire's son Ethan was adorable especially when he couldn't pronounce his "r" Henwee, Henwee.
There was a lot going on in this book and I was enjoying at every moment. We got introduced to the other Beck Brothers (Sebastian, Quinn and Christian) who are all hot. Henry's mother was very overbearing but Sebastian soon rips her a new one.
Can't wait for the next books in the series.

I could not get passed the poor writing to enjoy this story. The incorrect use of had/has and the way the author used "Claire" in every single sentence. No "she" or "her" or anything else in sight. Sentence structure. Paragraph building. Proper use of tenses. All wrong. I ended up flouncing this story and have no idea why in the hell so many people are giving this story such high marks. I cannot be expected to get in to a book and take it seriously if I can't even get through the first chapter. When an author writes poorly and the editing, if there was any, is this bad - all it does is make the character seem, for lack of a better word, uneducated.

This book was so sweet I'm surprised I don't have a mouth full of cavaties after reading it... it was cute..... but the WHOLE book was cute.. we had cute after cute after cute and happy happy happy.. and as sweet and cute as it was it was a nice surprise to have some pretty hot sexy times. There was ZERO angst in this book, ZERO drama (except a bit from his mom).. it was pretty much all happy from chapter one till the end. No misunderstandings or nothing.. just over the top sweet filled book. I've definitly had my fill of sweetness now to last me a good long while. Read this when you're done with a mindf*ck book or something really angsty and you just want something super sweet with just the right amount of steam and a sweet HEA.

I really enjoyed this story. I think readers that are looking for a series that showcases a book per hot brother of the same family should give this a go. The book was short but really realistic and very sweet! It seems that each brother will hold something different for a reader and I’ll definitely continue with this series.

I really loved the main character Claire a single mom who falls in love with her new boss Henry Beck. Claire was completely relatable. She never ran and was upfront while being an all out nice gal!

Henry and Claire’s relationship was well paced and their banter was very fun. Scenes with Claire’s son Ethan were very heartwarming. I found Henry to be pretty sexy especially when he wore his glasses!!

Obstacle wise, Henry’s mom’s a pain but she comes around as well as a scare or two. Overall, the story wasn’t over dramatic just a good read.

2.75 RATING- I know I'm in the minority on this one but just didn't really care for it. The writing just felt a bit amateurish to me. I probably won't read more in this series because of that. Too bad since I have several of the books I picked up as freebies.

So let me start this review by saying I read the whole book in one sitting. I could not put it down. First let me tell you about Henry he's 34, a CEO and beautiful. The man is everything! He's a complete sweetheart badass boss. And I love him! Haha. Now onto Claire she's 25 a single mom and a beauty. She's amazing with her son and an overall sweet person. The story is a bit rushed. I would've loved more details but at the same time I love the details I got. I love the connection between Claire and Henry. I adore that Henry loves Ethan too, Claire's 2 year old son. Henry is a man of business he doesn't have time for anything else. But when Claire starts to befriend him and their boss/assistant relationship becomes more. He starts to realize that maybe he's missing out on life and what life has to offer. But when a tragic accident happens Henry realizes life is too short to miss out on the important things. But obstacles, people, and life will get in the way. But in the end love can conquer all right?

This was a great read seriously. I love that it introduces the other brothers in the series and I love the relationship between them all. I did have a problem with the third person narration but I got over that quickly. Aside from that and some very few grammatical errors I love this. For me it was a 5 star read.

I'm off to start Sebastian next. Henry's dreamy brother/best friend.

Not for me. Never could get into it. Fun fact, after I did a search out of curiosity I found out that the word than was used about one time. Subsequently then was used a total of 278 times. So obviously one word was more popular then the other ;)

It's a good start of a series, 4 stars from me!

This is a classic love story, the one between the boss and the secretary. It's also borderline cliche as well, because we all know how this going to end, and how the twists in it are predictable. Yet, I found myself finishing it, and how comforting, reading this book.

Henry is our usual CEO type Hero; workaholic, cold-ish, and in need of the warmth of love but didn't realize it. Until he met Claire. Claire, is our usual heroine; strong, kind hearted, single mother of adorable two year old boy, and have a lot of love to give, especially to Henry, her boss. They found their way to each other, obviously. And they live happily ever after.

There are parts that kind of uncomfortable to me, like Henry's mother, and the style of writing that somehow awkward, unlike Large's writing in Hammer and Nails, the first book of her that I read previously. Maybe it's because this series is her older work? I don't know. Plus I'm a bit sad seeing how Sebastian treated his mom. I mean, sure she's demanding, selfish, and all that, but.. He's plain rude toward her. Ugh.

So yeah overall I loved this book, again it's a good start of I think it's going to be a good series. Look forward to read Sebastian's story!

Henry & Claire

Claire is a single mother of a cute little 2 year old boy. She gets a job as a personal assistant to a CEO of an advertising company.

She expects her boss to be an elderly man, but what she gets....oh my...

They are instantly attracted to each other, but they would never cross that line, it would not be good for business.

But...they can't help becoming friends...and then more

Claire fell hard and fast, and so did I... I couldn't help it!!

Henry?

There was just this little itty bitty problem they had

But sometimes life shakes you a little bit and you realize what is truly important..

When I saw that there were POV-s

The only thing I don't quite understand is the 3-way POV. Henry's, Claire's and then Sebastian's (Henry's brother)
But I guess I got to understand him a little better and I'm dying to finish his story right now, he's gonna be a tough cookie..

Otherwise, such a sweet story, they were adorable. I was so happy and grinning like a lunatic all day after reading this :D

I really enjoyed this!
I picked this up as a freebie on Amazon and what a little treat.

Yes the sexy hunky CEO who falls in love with his PA has been done before but... I really enjoyed Henry in the fact that they didn't rush in and start humping right on his desk on day one.
It's a slow build up. There are things that happen that make them realise their feelings for each other and bring them together.

I loved the scene when Sebastian and Henry save her from the date from hell Omg something is wrong with me cause I was like ohhh yes get it on, do it!.... hahhaha so wrong.

I love love love books with children in them and Ethan omg how cute is Ethan!!

I loved all the brothers they were great! I couldn't believe his mother!!! Seriously, was pretty shocking considering how sweet her sons were.. but all is well in the end!

Can NOT wait to get my hands on Sebastian. Need it now!

4.5 stars. I truly enjoy a very romantical book. It was a very great reading. Loved the Characters of Henry and his brothers, as well as Claire, this couple was a sweet wanting each other but denying themselves because of the work environment; Scared that there will be consequences, but finally they started to be friends at all cost. Oh Ethan, what a cutie putie, adorable little 2 years; This book was also very intense with the Mother, (Anne) who wanted know female was good for her sons. Sebastian was definitely my hero, how he put his mother in place. Even though he felt guilty of doing it but momma was not listening to her husband. Oh I almost cried, when they couldn't find Henry in the plane crash, I was going to get pissed if the book end it like that. But very lovely ending. Kudos to Ms. Large, first time newbie with reading one of your books. Bravo!

My review:
This book was just what I needed!!! It was such a sweet romance! You have Claire who is the sweetest hero and best mother. She is starting a new job. When she meets her new boss though, instead of a fat and elderly stuck up man, she meets Henry. Henry is taken with her immediately. I didn't feel this was insta-love. It started out with friendship and grew into more. I loved how the author made time go by with these two just being friends, but made it go by quickly. I also loved the fact that the hero was COMPLETELY faithful 100% once he meets the heroine. In fact, we know he just got out of a bad relationship and we do not see ANY intimate scenes with him and other women. He also doesn't have that man whore vibe at ALL. Which is quite refreshing!!! And little Ethan - goodness, he was adorable!! Henry was so great with him too. If you are looking for a sweet romance with very little angst, if any, this is your story!!! No bullcrap drama in this story :)

I am very excited AND anxious to read Sebatian's story. After what happened to him in this book, I feel SO terrible for him. He was a great friend/big brother to Claire. I only hope we don't have to read about him whoring it up :/

I liked the basic principles behind this book. It could have been great if more emotions were adapted and more insight into the basics of the main characters were portrayed before they acted upon their instincts leaving the reader wondering what happened and why it happened.

Another thing I wished that would have been added was drama. I wanted a little more. The author had the base line to add drama (hello, he's boinking his personal assistant and the heroine had a baby daddy who didn't want to be part of their lives who could have turned up and caused lots and lots of drama).

Don't get me started on the grammatical issues. There, their, and they're are used whenever it floats the boat of the author as well as then and than. And boy, all the speaking lines where quotes are used were used incorrectly throughout the entire novel and most of the time a comma was used after a period. If the author got someone to clean up her story it would definitely be a four star novel - if she added more drama and more depth it would be a five star. Right now, it's a 2.5 for me but I rounded it up to a 3.

If you can overlook grammatical issues, this novel was a light and easy read. It was fun and flirty but the minute you start noticing the incorrect usage of words that's all you'll focus on.

Normally I don't like books where the main female character has kids but Ethan is just to damn cute and I fell in love with him just as much as I did Claire and Henry. Henry in the beginning is all business, "I will email you my schedule. Get settled in, and I'll come back for you at lunch. We'll go to my favorite deli. Bring a copy of my schedule with you and we'll go over it while we eat," Henry said. He left, closing her office door behind him." And of course Claire's good lookin' body doesn't go unnoticed, "Claire's breasts filled out her purple silk blouse nicely. From what he could tell, she had to be a D-cup. Henry was absolutely a breast man. He was also an a** man. He'd love to give Claire's a** a swat. She had a fine a**. Henry shifted in his chair, his pants becoming uncomfortably tight in the groin area." When it comes to paying for expenses Henry will take no bull and will take charge, "Henry paid for lunch. Claire protested but he would hear none of that. He always paid for lunch, and everything else for that matter. Claire would learn." Sometimes you have to put the pain in the back of your mind to get to the good stuff, "Henry shook his head and thrust his fingers into her hair, cupping her head. "I don't give a s*** about my ribs," he said roughly before lowering his mouth to hers."

Successful CEO Henry Beck had one fast and hardened rule, never mix business with pleasure. His relationships in the office are professional and he never crosses the line, that is until his new Personal Assistant Claire Russell gets under his skin.

Single mother Claire needs this new job, her first impression of Henry is a bit off-putting, he is gorgeous, but also straight to the point. As she becomes more comfortable in her job, Henry and Claire develop a friendship of sorts that leads to him meeting her son. Henry knows he wants Claire in his life permanently, but he plans to take his time courting her but when a tragic moment brings them closer together, it causes a rift Henry was not expecting. As long as he has Claire by his side though he knows he can weather any storm.

I expected this book to be just sex and nothing else.. But it was such a sweet story!
I love these brothers.

Henry is a sweetie! And my word are they a bunch of emotional men. But it was a nice change from the normal macho male personality.

Definitely reading the other ones.

Meh

Average quick read, could do with someone going through an doing a more thorough edit.

Henry has a lot of potential to be a kick ass alpha but just didn't quite get there I'm afraid.

This is my second reread of this book, and was ok to pass some time.

I love, love this book! The story is about a CEO, Henry Beck, who fall in love with his personal assistant, Claire. Claire also has a son, named Ethan, who bonds with Henry as if Ethan was his own son. The bond between these three characters is unimaginable. It is easy to fall for Henry when you just see how amazing he is towards Claire and Ethan. I kinda wish there were more love scenes between them but they kinda got together a little after half the book so I guess I get why there weren't more. This book was filled with so much love, emotion, and drama to entertain the masses. The best and worst part of the story for me was the end. It was the best part of the story because it was packed with emotional scenes. I could not stop crying over their Christmas Eve and the epilogue. However, it was the worst part of the story because it was the end. :( I just wished this story was longer. I wanted to read more about Henry and Claire but I hope we get to read more about them in the other books. I also loved how the story provided a great background for the other characters in the story, especially Henry's brother, Sebastian. The Beck brothers just seem completely irresistible. Cannot wait to read Sebastian's story!

What a freaking awesome read !!!!!! 4.5*

I loved every page of this book. The romance was great, I liked the instant click Henry and Claire had. What was even more amazing was that these 2 people wanted to be in a relationship with each other, there was no unnecessary fighting or stubbornness or I-don't-need-a-man-in-my-life drama(thank god!).

Claire was a well written heroine who was a great match for Henry. Their chemistry and love was well thought out and well written. Her interaction with all the secondary characters endeared her more to me. Claire made you feel like you could so be her friend. She was exactly what the Beck family needed and they where exactly what she needed.

It did not hurt that I'm a sucker for this kind of storyline...single mom meets sexy older CEO and a love story begins. I'm also a total sucker for a series that involves brothers.

I even enjoyed Ann in the beginning she was a hoot!!!

If you are looking for a easy, enjoyable, fun romantic read which has great sex, give this book a try.

My first read from this author, aside from a few editing issues this, was a fantastic read.

I am reading Sebastian's book and am hoping that Raelynn is as uncomplicated as Claire.

OMG, I had no idea what I was in store for when I chose this book to read next. I have seen the buzz about the series on my Facebook wall from various book sites and author's pages I follow. So naturally I knew I needed to add it to my reading list. And boy am I ever glad I did!!!

I first have to say that I am generally not one for love stories as the core of the book. I've always preferred the fantasy/paranormal genre. But lately I have found myself drawn to the paranormal love/romance genre, so I knew it would be log before I found my way to the romance/adult contemporary genre. Man have I been missing out.

Henry,Henry, Henry....oh my gosh, what a sexy, male lead. He's everything a woman wants in a man and more. He's hard and driven when needed, soft and tender when least expected, but most of all, he's just damn HOT!!!!! And then there's Clare. The one that shakes his world to the core. There's not much I can as this review will become one big spoiler!!

What I can say is that this book touches every basic human emotion. You'll laugh, gasp, cry and down right swoon. This is by far one of the best books I've read yet this year. If you haven't yet discovered the Beck Brothers, stop procrastinating and visit Henry right now. I'm off to visit Sebastian now. Ta!!

Romance: 4
Sensuality: 2
Sex: 2.5
Hero: Henry 4
Heroine: Claire 4
Enjoyable: 4
Secondary Characters: 4
Likely hood of reading the rest of the series: 5 have to know what's going to happen with Sebastian!

This was a good book! I really liked all the characters and felt connected to them.

My only complaint was that the writing felt a little juvenile at times. But it looks like this may have been her first book so hopefully some of the wrinkles will be ironed out as I go through the series.

I really liked this book and felt the she did a great job at creating personality with her characters and I also really felt the family dynamic as well.

I very much recommend this book for anyone who is looking for a sweet, easy read, if a bit short.
