When I started reading the first 20 chapters, I thought that I'm going to hate it. I just don't like how Jae-Min the male MC's misogynistic ways and stalking activities. Seriously he's such a hypocrite when he hates girls touching and fawning over him but then he does it to Ma-ri. I really hate double standards so I did not swoon over him at all. Probably the main reason why my rating is not that high.
Although the male MC did not win me over, I must admit that I like Ma-Ri's character. A modern vampire completely drawn to Jae-Min's sweet blood. Very Twilighty eh? One thing for sure, I like her better that Bella Swan. Vampires co-exist with humans, they are mostly extinct but they are considered as second class citizens, and even though there's a treaty they are still feared because they drink blood. However they have evolved to drinking pigs blood instead, but still they are forced to move from one place to another because of discrimination. As a result, Ma-ri maintained a distant relationship with any of them to protect herself. But I guess no species can survive alone. we all need to form a bond; a connection to others to be completely happy. I'm glad that Ma-ri was able to gradually open herself more to others.
This supernatural webtoon/manhwa was very realistic in portraying racism and other prejudice. It's in Vampires nature to drink blood, The difference in food preference should not warrant harassment from humans. Same goes with color, gender, cultural beliefs, religion and sexual orientation. I'm quite happy with how the romance turned out, and the ending was just right, it's not the happily ever after ending but it felt real....more

It has a very chick-lit feel to it; romantic, sexy and fierce in every way. The first book’s ending kind of ripped my heart because Cat needed to get away from Bones to save him from being hunted down and she needs to work for a secret government agency that deals with Paranormal occurrences.
Four years had passed when she left Bones but she still misses him terribly. Gone is the naïve and prissy girl, she’s a woman now, sexy and lethal and I guess that makes her irresistible to both human and the undead.
I think Frost never failed to let all her female readers down when, Bones finally appeared again, it’s like my blood literally sang and said Bite me!!! Hahaha

He totally belongs to my Top 10 book boyfriends now. Why not? He’s a vampire which makes him an instant super sexy guy, I love his dry humor and accent, he’s jealousy is over the top HOT to read and don’t get me started on the bed scenes, because book 2 just surpassed book 1 on that area .. way off the charts I tell you. Not for the faint heart…LOL ^^

I'm sorry, I keep imagining him as Spike ... (^^) bahaha
Again this book is so much fun, it’s interesting to read about the vampire laws as well as the other stuff. You can just fly through this book. And the SMUT is great!!! Thumbs up!...more

This is my first Eliza Victoria book, the blurb and the cover compelled me to read this and of course the reviews I've seen in Goodreads fueled my interest.
The story begins when two cousins inhabit the bodies of two brothers Louis and Jonah, all is well but then they found a dead body inside a freezer down the basement. The story progresses as they unravel the mystery surrounding the dead body as well as the involvement of the bodies they now dwelled in. This novella actually has two parts and the ending of part 1 threw me off because d-a-y-u-m! Then comes part 2 which is actually a backstory of the main characters, part 2 was more darkly engrossing and the two parts complimented each other. For such a short read Eliza Victoria's Dwellers has it all, mixing crime, mystery, and supernatural powers in Philippine setting in this stunning novella.
"We are doomed because we are all connected but alone we won't survive. So we are all doomed. Even if you follow all the rules, someone, somewhere, won't and it will be the end of you. If a life is defined by how it ends, then no life has meaning because every life ends with nothing."
After reading this book, it made me thought about escapism. People seek entertainment and engage in their own fantasy to escape how stressful and cruel reality is. We imagine ourselves in the lives of other people living our dream but unlike the dwellers in the bodies of Jonah and Louis we can always go back to own selves and accept the truth. Sometimes escaping is not always the answer we seek, tragic as it seems but it always get you back to where you started.
"I wish things would end a different way. But here we are."
I highly recommend this book! Fans of speculative fiction will love this....more
Remember Buffy the Vampire slayer??? That’s right this book has similarities with the TV series but I’m not complaining because I love it so much. ThiRemember Buffy the Vampire slayer??? That’s right this book has similarities with the TV series but I’m not complaining because I love it so much. This book has an awesome heroine, Cat and a very sexy love interest. Bones is super sexy, I just can’t help it that this book reminds me of Buffy and Spike because I ship them so bad back in the days.
[image] And how lovely that this book gave me Cat and Bones who are so badass and horny for each other as well… bahahaha Guys it has smut! Oh the joy! A smut that never bored me because it was never done in repeats! Steamy as hell!

Catherine “Cat” Crawfield is a half vampire who wants vengeance for what her Father did to her mother. As much as she hates her abnormalities, she kind of used it as an advantage to kill vampires. And what are the odds that she crossed path with Bones, the sexy Vampire while hunting. Together they used each other for their goals and they got some benefits while they’re at it.
This book is packed with steam and adventure. I love Cat for her fierceness and prissy character. I’m in love with Bones for being utterly sexy just by his English accent alone, and of course the rest of him is magnificent as well. Oh boy I’m swooning so much!!! I just love him.
For all the readers whose into Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance and SMUT! read it!...more

“Rose stood in the last faint beams of sunset. “Whoa!” “Is he wearing a leather cat suit?” “Holy Mother!" “Dude!” The guys all quickly averted their eyes and raised their hands to further block any chance of catching a view. Anything to not see Rose in his painted-on leather one-piece that left absolutely nothing to the imagination. “Stunning, right?” Rose spread his palms as far as the cuffs would allow. “Oh, I’m stunned.” Ayden looked ill.
I like this book, I really like how it made me laugh so hard even through the chaos. Aurora was still the clumsy badass girl, Ayden was still sweet and flirty, Matthias was still an asshole, I was really hoping to like him here. I was really getting there but then he opens that dirty mouth of his. Overall the whole gang was just so adorable. Then we have Adonis who is so Fabio-like.. Seriously this book is just so hilarious; there is never a dull moment. I got some of the answers I needed in the first book.
Is it just me because I feel like the revelation did not leave enough impression, it’s lacking of impact for me to say things like “Holy shit!”. Maybe because the gang where just too dorky that I can’t take them seriously…. Oh well maybe it’s just me then … LOL...more

"I cannot think of the deep sea shuddering at the nameless things that may at this very moment be crawling and floundering on its slimy bed, worshipping their ancient stone idols and carving their own detestable likenesses on submarine obelisks of water-soaked granite. I dream of a day when they may rise above the billows to drag down in their reeking talons the remnants of puny, war-exhausted mankind — of a day when the land shall sink, and the dark ocean floor shall ascend amidst universal pandemonium."...more

Not on a dark and stormy night. Not foreshadowed by ominous here comes the villain music, dire warning at the bottom of a teacup, or dread portents in the sky. It began small and innocuously, as most catastrophes do. A butterfly flaps its wings somewhere and the wind changes, and a warm front hits a cold front off the coast of western Africa and before you know it you’ve got an hurricane closing in. By the time anyone figured out the storm was coming, it was too late to do anything but batten down the hatches and exercise damage control."
I really don’t know how to make a convincing review for you guys to read this book. First of all, this is one hell of a series, and I’m just gonna make a brief introduction to the first book and the series, nothing spoilery. In all honesty Darkfever did not really blow me away because it has a slow start, that’s kind of understandable because the world is being described here, given all those Fae terms but Karen Marie Moning did a very good introduction to the world she’s building and the Dublin backdrop mixed with Fae lore (there is no Tinkerbell in this book, the Faes here are beasts) and the so called Sidhe-seers were so fascinating that it makes me want to go there… I could really use V’lane to sift me to Dublin right now …
Uhm V’lane?! I kinda need you but I don’t know how to call you because I need your name written in my tongue, and boy do I want your name in my tongue so bad (you’ll understand once you read the books) .. V’lane is just the handsome Fae Prince that will make you scream his name when he’s near you, or more than that, no pressure.. [image]
Oh another thing, Mackayla “Mac” Lane, she came to Dublin to discover the truth about her sister's death, and she has no idea what she got herself into. Try to imagine Barbie and her rainbow attitude and put her in this strange place where Faes are glamoured but she can see through them, it kinda reminds me of Clary from the The Mortal Instruments but this book is different because it’s dark and it’s definitely not young adult fiction, that I will tell you. Mac is probably the reason why I rated this first book lower because, she kind of annoys me from the start, I just don’t like her Barbie attitude but give her time because the later books will surprise you, you'll be reading the Mac version 2.0, in the next books her character will evolve dramatically which put her to one of my favorite female MC’s ever.
And let’s not forget Jericho Barrons, this guy's sexiness is so carnal, unpredictable, mysterious and brutal, he’s probably the Alpha male of all Alpha males, oh boy he’s HOT!!! A Beast I tell you!
“If he was winter, I was summer. If I was sunshine, he was night. A dark and stormy one.”

You don’t want to mess with this guy, you guys have no idea how much I like Barrons, because right now he belongs to my top book boyfriends list.
You must not mistake this series as romance with urban fantasy because there is nothing romantic in here, it’s more sexual and carnal because there is desire and lust but I hope that’s not a turn-off for you. I love how Karen Marie Moning wrote this series. She has a way of dropping hints and twist in the story that is no way possible, you’ll never know where she’s going with it, it’s dark, witty, it has good character development and Mac’s inner monologue is just witty and lyrical. The build-up is intense with each book that it’ll make you crave for more. It’s addicting, it’s amazing … I love it. I recommend this to all of you NA and urban-paranormal fantasy lovers out there! They were kind of similar because there’s this heroine and she’s surrounded by gorgeous guys except they are not called the celestial guardians of Suzaku but the awesome HEX BOYS who are on a mission to protect her well except for the asshole Matthias. Can I sign these guys up in my Harem?!!! LOL (^^)

To me I think Ayden is like Tamahome … hahahaha … … and Aurora is like Miaka, clumsy and witty except she doesn’t have a bottomless pit for a stomach and she's badass. I’m sorry I can’t help myself I’m just such a dork back then, till now probably because before I started liking books, anime was my first love.
I liked reading this book, it was fast paced but I really wanted it to be not so action packed, I mean I wanted it to have more dialogue, more explanation about the Divinicus Nex, because I’m just lost sometimes, it’s like everything was happening at the same time that I wanted them to stop their banters and flirting, stop running or killing some monsters and just give me some details. I barely had that throughout this book that I was little disappointed but it was still an awesome read, I enjoyed it and laughed a lot and even swooned for Ayden and Aurora, they seriously got something steamy going on …...more

A lot of things happened in this book. Opal (book 3) had me with its cliff hanger and of course it's so predictable that our gorgeous Daemon would come to rescue his damsel in distress in Area 51!!!
SPOILERS!!!
Katy was in that place of torture, having to face the wrath of the onyx and diamonds that pierce her insides and even if Daemon had infiltrated that place and gladly submit himself to Daedalus just to save his Kitten, he still did not escape the horror of seeing Katy being studied, sliced and bruised and even with his healing power he can cannot undo what was done to her.
Daedalus thinks that it's all for mankind's self preservation, to create an army of hybrids and origins (the offspring of a Luxen and hybrid) and fight the Luxens impending invasion.
I really enjoyed reading this book because a lot is happening and not just the romance. There's deaths, betrayal and confusion. One thing that bothers me though is the teens being teens; having those hormones and thinking rashly. There are some things that I hope Katy and Daemon should have postponed and the same with Dawson and Beth.
Anyway the ending was insane, the Luxens are here and they are taking over Earth, What will happen to Daemon, Dawson and Dee? Are they going to stand with mankind or with their own kind? What will happen next? more death for sure...
And guys, this is my review. I don't care if you read more challenging books than this one. I rate books based on how I enjoyed reading them, so if this is not your thing I suggest you move on with what your reading and stay out of my review :) .

They should have gone with a picture of the opal stone rather than showing a couple wrapped in each others arms. It's no way sexy or romantic to look at.
The third book was as exciting as ever, a ton of things happened; missing people are reappearing and they've been not the same(blame that to the DOD and Daedalus!), the heroes are freaking nuts mutilating themselves with the onyx, Blake is back again to exasperate and bemuse us (I really like Blake, really but but but ... grrrrrrr!). Daemon is hot as ever but still acts like a douche, but I'm not complaining because it works as his charm. Like he said, he's awesome (uh huh!) This book has too much angst in it and it was soaked in raging hormones. We also get to read about Daemon being sweet and romantic and my fangirl heart kept screaming for him! (Daemon!)
And the ending was so heartbreaking!!! I already knew that the worst is bound to happen and my heart sank for Daemon screaming Katy's name ... The ending was such a cliff hanger, I can't wait to get started on book 4.
