4.5 stars- V H football player that sees the h and knows she’s the one?

2023 reread sigh. I forgot how much I loved this. I didn’t like the audiobook narrators 😬. The male narrator sounded older than Knox’s age 😅. The female narrator sounded older too. I found that I was annoyed by all the ow mentions this time- as in, what Knox has seen and what his teammates do; good thing he’s a virgin 👏🏻 lol. I still loved him and how devoted and dedicated he was to Ellie ❤️.

I’m in! I know. I know. Hard to believe right? How the heck is a football god a v, a man that’s coveted and wanted left and right? Shoot, I was asking myself the same damn thing. All I know is I want a Knox in my life… he might’ve been new in the sheets, but he quickly figured out how to master every aspect of it🔥🔥🔥.

Knox’s (21) team captain for a reason. He eats, breathes, lives football- and he wants no distractions, which is why he’s managed to remain a v so long. One day during his routine 5 am workouts at the stadium, he sees someone else there. They don’t exchange names, but the chemistry ignites as soon as they’re near each other. A little competition shows how athletic this girl is, and a scar on her knee proves she’s gone through her own battles as well. She ends up leaving and he never finds out her name.

Ellie‘s (20/21) brother plays with Knox. She recently transferred as a junior and is being forced by her mother to help her brother succeed in his classes. One of the rules that she abides by is to never date a football player, especially if it’ll interfere with her brother’s football journey. But Knox isn’t going to let her to stop them from being more than just friends. She’s the one for him, the one that he’s been waiting for, and nothing’s going to prevent them from happening.

”I’m not into games between us. I want you. Badly. I know you want me too but it’s more than sex for me. When you work that out, it’ll be amazing. I’m willing to wait. I’m really good at waiting.”

Omg the tension 🥵 the chemistry 😅 the connection is 🔥. From the first time they meet, it’s crackling heat as soon Knox and Ellie are in the same room 💦. The first time they dance together was 🥵🥵🥵… and then when he says he needs to use the restroom, we all know why he went. And then Ellie walks in… and… oh. My. God 😅💦. The dirty mouth of him is absolutely scrumptious 😉🔥. Jeeezus… are you sure you’re a v? Cause there are manhoars out there that could use a lesson or two from you 🥵. Even though his first time finally happens at about 61%, all the appetizers beforehand was cigarette-break worthy 💦. Their first kiss at a BOOKSTORE was delicious… yes Knox, you know how to get a girl going, especially when you’re holding a book she wants as hostage. Well played 😉👏🏻.

What else I appreciated in this book was how much information the author has on football. I found myself asking my hubby a few questions lol, obviously this shows that the author knows a lot on how college and professional football works. Plus, the repercussions and penalties for mistakes, etc were well-researched.

Also, I liked the “test” that Knox and his twin brother had in place and how easily Ellie passed each time. I found myself smiling at some of them, especially when they do the last one in the book 😉.

Although this isn’t a romcom, I totally giggled and snorted here and there. The BANTER between Knox and Ellie was completely genuine- which added to their intense chemistry.

Annnnnd… I enjoyed the side characters (except the manwhore teammate 😑). I wish we got books on all of them lol. I see the twin brother gets one (book 4). Gah. I can’t wait to see Ty 👀.
