"You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. You can't get there by bus, only by hard work and risk and by not quite knowing what you're doing, but what you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover will be yourself." Alan Alda spoke these words to a 1980 college graduation, the same year 16-year-old Karen Ross posted his words on her dresser mirror.

Then and now, Karen challenges herself personally and professionally to live on that outside edge of comfortable, and writing does this. She had a story to tell about life experiences: Gutsy romantic love (something not easily found, and often lost); soul-tickling romantic Italy; delectable food and wine (especially Chianti); and passionate

An old photo of unknown relatives, saved by a dear cousin for more than fifty years, opened the door to meeting warm, loving family members in small towns in Lazio. In this case, truth is better than fiction!(less)

Pasta Sauce and Beautycounter

Pasta Sauce is the reason I’m now a consultant for Beautycounter. Does this make sense? It shouldn’t, because Beautycounter only sells safe personal care products that we put on our bodies, not in our bodies. So here’s my story. It started in Italy (where so many of my favorite stories begin)…

Homemade sauce by my cousin AnnaMaria

Karen Ross Dear Lucinda,

I'm so happy that you were selected for the giveaway of Chianti Souls. If you are a huge fan of Italian art, culture and food, I believe this book will make your desire to visit Italy get stronger! For readers who've never been, they state that the novel makes them want to hurry up and go; for readers who've been, they state they feel like they've gone back! I love it when I hear feedback like this!

I plan to ship the book early next week and I will appreciate your honest and candid review.

Thank you!
Karen

PS I loved the scenery in LETTERS TO JULIET and the romantic nature of it, but thought the story was a bit weak. Interestingly, it was filmed in Siena and a small village called Vagliagli. I have visited both locations and have a friend who lives in Vagliagli name Dario Castagno who writes books about Italy such as "Too Much Tuscan Wine." You should take a look at his books for an insider's view of living in the region of Chianti. He was born in England to Italian parents and moved to Italy as a young boy; so he is fluent in English and Italian. He's quite funny and sarcastic, and he makes fantastic olive oil, too!

L Dear Karen,
Thank you so much for acepting my friendship request here on Goodreads! I am delighted to have won a copy of your novel Chianti Souls through a Goodreads, first-read giveaway. I am really looking forward to reading and discovering your work.
Kind Regards
Lucinda x

P.S- Having read the book's synopsis, i am most intreged as it sounds in a small way similar to a film i recently watched called letters to Juliet? I am a huge fan of Italian art, culture and food and would love to visit one day :)
