No one does an all-black look with as much as class as Angelina Jolie.
The actor—who tends to stay true to her timeless everyday uniform—spiced up her signature look while out in New York City this Tuesday.
For the base of the look, Jolie slipped into one of her many elegant black dresses—this one a maxi dress with a plunging V neckline, a wrap detail at the bodice, and ruched detailing. It was belted at the waist and featured a breezy, flowing skirt.
To keep warm, Jolie eschewed her favorite outerwear, the trench coat, opting instead for a luxurious coverup that was part cardigan, part shawl. The piece was made of rich black velvet, and embellished with a swirling, floral-inspired pattern all over in matte black. For shoes, she chose a pair of silky black peep-toe platforms, from which her glossy red manicure peeked out.
Jolie added some wow factor to the monochrome ensemble with a pair of large, dangly white diamond earrings, plus a diamond ring. She wore a subtle dark smoky eye and had her hair in a half-up, half-down style.
Jolie wore the look for an outing with Maria director Pablo Larraín, who looked dapper in a classic black suit, white shirt, and black tie. Jolie plays the lead in the biopic about the life of famed opera singer Maria Callas. Having premiered—to astounding reviews—at the Venice Film Festival this past August, the film will head to select theaters starting on November 27; it will later drop on Netflix on December 11.
