Imaginary Courtyard is the brainchild of Founder & Chief Creative Officer, Joe Frankel. Joe has worked as a Hollywood story editor for Universal Studios, The Mark Gordon Company and Larger Than Life Productions in Los Angeles. He served for six years as the Head of Video Content and Executive Producer of the Pre-Show at Cineplex movie theatres and he has worked in content marketing for more than 20 years, with global brands including Google and Nintendo.

The Imaginary Courtyard team is a collective of film & tv writers, producers, editors and cinematographers who have achieved excellence in marketing across Canada and the USA.
Our Monogram
Look closely and you’ll notice that the “C” in our Imaginary Courtyard monogram is in the shape of a
180 degree camera shutter.
This same shutter was used to create some of the most iconic images in movie history. Images that are permanently written in our cultural DNA. The subtle metallic textures reinforce our brand promise to deliver tactile content that represents you and your story in the most visceral and enduring light.
Our company name is a riff on Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window - a movie where a glimpse through a window reveals an untold story. Like Hitchcock, we look at things from a unique perspective. For us the courtyard is a place of endless possibility in which creativity and innovation reign supreme.
