Named Most Outstanding News Presenter by the COMGUILD Center for
Journalism during the 2006 Annual Conference of Journalism and
Communication Students of the Philippines held recently at the AFP
Theater in Quezon City. The co-anchor of GMA's flagship newscast
24 oras (2004) is the first recipient of the said honor. She was chosen from a
pool of ten news presenter nominees from different TV stations by an
esteemed panel of judges chaired by UP College of Mass Communications
Dean Dr. Elena Pernia and composed of 20 other deans from different
colleges and universities in Metro Manila. The award was given in
recognition of Tiangco's accuracy in reporting, effectiveness, ability
to handle interviewee, clarity, fairness and her impact to the
viewers.
