Berkery's specialty is coaching American actors in making the transition from American English to British English, most famously Renée Zellweger for the Bridget Jones films where she spent five weeks of full-time intensive coaching with Zellweger. Her other American students have included Gwyneth Paltrow for Shakespeare in Love (1998) and Johnny Depp for Finding Neverland (2004), etc.
...with increased globalisation, there's another drive to make people all over the world understand what you say first times, so you can't really afford the luxury of a strong local accent. Accents are warm and lovely and yet they're starting to die out. I think that's a great shame.
