American animator and animation director, trained at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. Worked for Disney, Walter Lantz (1933), Warner Brothers (briefly, in 1936), MGM and UPA. He also sidelined as a cartoonist for Dell Publishing from 1948 to 1959, especially associated with drawing the characters 'Tom and Jerry', 'Barney Bear' and 'Mr Magoo'.
