Morwyn Brebner is an award-winning showrunner and playwright.
She is the creator behind CBC's hit series Coroner, which she was Showrunner on for the first three seasons. Brebner co-created Saving Hope (CTV/ION) and was Executive Producer and Showrunner for Seasons 1-3. She also co-created the ABC and Global Television drama series Rookie Blue. Brebner's series work includes Mary Kills People (Global/Lifetime) and Bellevue (CBC/WGN America). She worked as Co-Executive Producer and Writer for CBC's upcoming series The Council.
Most recently, Brebner was honoured as 2021 Showrunner of the Year by the Writers Guild of Canada. She was a long-time playwright-in-residence at Tarragon Theatre in Toronto, where many of her plays premiered, and her works have been produced throughout Canada and by Storm Theater Company in New York. Brebner is a graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada.
