Cecilia Gessa is a director, screenwriter, and producer of film and theater known for her socially themed projects, primarily focusing on gender-based violence, bullying, and the Lgtbiq+ movement.
In 2022, she was honored with the "Linda Chacón" Award in recognition of her professional work as a producer and director in the film industry. The following year, in 2023, the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain and Greenpeace bestowed upon her the Green Ray Award for her commitment to environmental and social values. Additionally, the association MUM (Women United against Abuse) recognized Cecilia Gessa for her advocacy for gender equality and the eradication of violence against women through her body of work.
Cecilia also received the Daphne Award for Best Social Project in 2023 for her work on "Princess" at the Lloret Negre Festival.
