Darlene Violette is a New York City based actor, and writer.
A native of Taunton, MA, she is a graduate of the Trinity Repertory
Conservatory in Providence, RI.
Darlene's television credits include appearances on Ryan Murphy's Groundbreaking TV series Pose on FX, Season One of The Punisher on Netflix, The Path, Bull, The HBO miniseries Show Me A Hero, Louie, 30 Rock, The Heart, She Holler, Ugly Betty,Wonder Showzen, Delocated, Law & Order, Law & Order SVU, and opposite Kate Winslet in the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce. Her many film credits include Bad Education opposite Allison Janney and Hugh Jackman, the Sony Pictures feature Premium Rush directed by David Koepp, Two Days in New York, starring Chris Rock and directed by Julie Delpy, Skate Kitchen, Adam Bloom, The Hungry Ghosts Directed by Michael Imperioli and God's Behaving Badly directed by Marc Turtletaub. She has also appeared extensively in NYC theater productions, indie films and national commercial and print campaigns.
She studied writing at Trinity Rep Conservatory with Eliza Anderson and at Studio Dante with Francine Volpe. And sketch comedy writing at The Upright Citizens Brigade in NYC. As a writer she has written plays, sketches and a web series. She has produced several theatrical productions. She has written a stage play and a screenplay about the life and career of the legendary Mae West.
Some of her all time favorite actors/performers include Mae West, Carol Burnett and Ann Bancroft.
