Sandra Bullock is currently not dating anyone after the unfortunate passing of her longtime partner Bryan Randall in 2023. However, she is known to have dated a few high-profile stars including some of her co-stars. Here’s why Ryan Gosling broke up with Sandra Bullock (Photo Credit – Facebook/Wikimedia)
The story goes back to 2001, on the set of Murder by Numbers. Sandra Bullock, the experienced A-lister, and Ryan Gosling, a fresh-faced newbie, were meant to play a cop and suspect, but what really happened was chemistry off-screen that blossomed into a romantic relationship.
Despite the 16-year age gap—Sandra was 37; Ryan was just 21—they didn’t let age stop them. Their connection seemed strong. But as it turned out, show business had other plans. Ryan himself put it bluntly: “Show business is the bad guy. When both people are in show business, it’s too much show business. It takes all of the light, so nothing else can grow.” Translation? Their busy schedules simply tore them apart.

Sometimes books are mega hits and get turned into movies that take off. There’s just something that captures the zeitgeist and it’s destined to be. Harry Potter came out of nowhere and then turned into a franchise of books, video games, Lego sets, and of course movies. Other times, authors release something that will undoubtedly get picked up as the track record for success is already there. This is the Stephen King special or even Michael Crichton when he was still active. Adaptations can come from cases of re-adaptations like Dracula, Frankenstein, and other classics that get recycled over and over again, especially of they fall into the public domain. There’s the rare case, though, that an unknown author has a manuscript pop and movie studios jump at the chance to create something new. The journey and strange tale of the author of Bird Box falls under that last category.

For Christmas one year, I gave my grandpa a DVD box set of the early "Seinfeld" seasons. My dad thought it was a silly gift because a now-classic show like "Seinfeld" would probably have reruns until the end of time. So far, my dad has been right. Even as streaming has transformed the television landscape, the availability and appeal of "Seinfeld" shows no signs of fading. In fact, it's this ongoing popularity that helped turn director Rob Reiner's production company, Castle Rock Entertainment, into a cash cow.

Liam Neeson's upcoming film Absolution continues a trend that started nearly two decades ago in one of his most iconic films. Neeson, who turned 72 in 2024, is keeping up his momentum as one of the best leading actors in action movies working in Hollywood today with 2024's Absolution. Many of Neeson's best action films are essentially one-person army tales that portray the talented actor's physical tour-de-force performances. Absolution appears to fit right in that category.
The trailer of Absolution stars Neeson as an aging gangster trying to escape his dark past. The film, directed by Hans Peter Moland and written by Tony Gayton, also stars Ron Perlman, Frankie Shaw, and Daniel Diemer. Neeson, an Academy Award nominee for 1993's Schindler's List, has nearly 200 television and movie acting credits to his name after making his feature film debut in 1978's Pligrim's Progress.
Absolution will be released on November 1, 2024.

Sandra Bullock is a name that immediately takes us back to one of the greatest action films ever made, Speed (1994). Over the years, the 60-year-old actress starred in many box office hits, and it wasn’t just her role as Annie Porter that brought her a lot of recognition in the world of entertainment. Bullock had to work extremely hard before landing major roles in the industry.
The Gravity actress was born on July 26, 1964, to John W. Bullock and Helga Mathilde Meyer in Arlington, Virginia. While both her parents were vocal experts, Bullock loved acting and cheerleading while growing up.

Another fact about the A-lister is that she spent a little over a decade in Germany since her father was stationed as the Army’s Military Postal Service in charge. It was during his time in Nuremberg that he met Meyer.

As a child actor, he starred in Disney's The Mickey Mouse Club (1993-1995) and became a Hollywood superstar with The Notebook (2004). Since then, the actor has received three Oscar nominations for his work in Half Nelson, La La Land, and Barbie. His role as Ken in the latter further solidified his place as a global star. In 1983, sometime between the M*A*S*H finale, the shock of seeing Darth Vader’s face, and the Cabbage Patch Riots, the Police issued the year’s music blockbuster. The trio’s fifth and final album, Synchronicity, was almost immediately the best-selling LP released that year.
The record, now octuple platinum, was a cultural force: The New York Times likened it to Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band for pairing highbrow conceptualism (can you explain psychiatrist Carl Jung’s 1960 theory of “synchronicity”?) with tunes you could hum (who cares!

Sandra Bullock is one of the most respected and well-known celebrities in Hollywood. With a lengthy career in various genres and mediums, she has created a reputation as a successful and talented actress. When it comes to celebrities as high-profile as her, it is only natural that every aspect of their lives, public or private, will be carefully dissected by the world. This is especially true when it comes to their romantic lives.
Sandra Bullock in Ocean’s Eight (2018)
Long before his rise to fame, Ryan Gosling was involved with Bullock. The pair dated for two years, until they ultimately split up. What many might not know is that their relationship was seriously condemned by many because of the age gap between the two stars. The actress was thirty-seven at the time, and Gosling was just twenty-one.
Interestingly enough, Bullock actually spoke up about their age gap, as well as the criticism she was getting.

Ryan Gosling has had 10 "Rotten" movies on Rotten Tomatoes, including "Murder by Numbers" and "The United States of Leland." Despite some "Rotten" ratings, "The Notebook" is one of Gosling's highest-rated films with a 54% critics score and 85% audience score. "The Gray Man" received a 44% critics score but has the highest audience score among Gosling's "Rotten" films, at 90%.
Throughout his nearly three-decade-long career, Ryan Gosling has starred in a ton of movies, ten of which have been deemed "Rotten" on Rotten Tomatoes. The Canadian-born actor got his start in the industry at 12 years old as a Mouseketeer on Disney Channel's revival of The Mickey Mouse Club House in 1993. Three years later, he made his film debut in Frankenstein and Me at the age of 16, followed by his breakout role in 2001's The Believer.

Sandra Bullock partially made her career off of action films like Speed and Demolition Man. Although the genre treated her well enough, she wasn’t always sure if it was designed for female actors to thrive in.
Sandra Bullock felt action films did women a disservice in the 2000s Sandra Bullock | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Bullock believed the action genre became even less accommodating to female actors as time went on. Ironically, she herself experienced her breakthrough role opposite Keanu Reeves in Speed. This led to a bit of a career winning streak for Bullock that saw the Oscar-winner return to the genre a couple of times.
In 2002, she starred in the darker action thriller Murder by Numbers. Perhaps what intrigued her the most about the feature was the character she ended up playing. She felt the role was a callback to characters from another time that all but vanished in the new millennium.

I Fucking Hate Goldfrapp.
After spending our month-long theme on toxic masculinity with difficult watches like Funny Games (listen) and Deadgirl (listen), as well as an easier watch in Murder By Numbers (listen), we’re wrapping up the month with a look at David Slade‘s controversial 2005 film Hard Candy.
Hard Candy sees precocious teenager Hayley (Elliot Page) go to a coffee shop to meet Jeff (Patrick Wilson), a photographer she met on the internet. Jeff thinks he is in for a real treat, but after a bit of flirtation Hayley drugs him and straps him to a chair, revealing that she knows Jeff preys on teenage girls. She has a plan to wring a confession from him, but Jeff doesn’t plan to do down without a fight.

Bullock’s Badly Behaved Baboon.
After kicking off our month-long theme on toxic masculinity with difficult watches like Funny Games (listen) and Deadgirl (listen), we’re slowing things down a bit this week with Barbet Schroeder‘s 2002 Leopold and Loeb adaptation (of sorts) Murder By Numbers.
In Murder By Numbers, two gifted high school students named Richard and Justin execute a “perfect” murder – then become engaged in an intellectual contest with seasoned homicide detective Cassie Mayweather (Sandra Bullock). The only problem for them is that Cassie has a dark past that she’s been hiding, and it will help her solve the case.

With Spooky Season firmly in the rear view mirror, Trace and I are now mid-way through our month on Toxic Masculinity. And while we probably could have counted Apt Pupil (and maybe even Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2), we officially kicked things off with Michael Haneke’s Funny Games.
Things get considerably darker with our second entry: Marcel Sarmiento and Gadi Harel‘s Deadgirl. The extreme film follows two high school teenage boys – Rickie (Shiloh Fernandez) and Jt (Noah Segan) – who discover a zombie girl (Jenny Spain) in an abandoned hospital and make the horrific decision to use her as a sex object rather than alert the authorities.
As Rickie struggles with his guilty conscience, Jt recruits other “friends” like Wheeler (Eric Podnar) to assault the girl. Things get out of hand, however, when a pair of jocks, including Johnny (Andrew Dipalma) – the boyfriend of Rickie’s crush,...

Ryan Gosling had high profile relationships with a few celebrities. But he doubted it would’ve gotten better than being linked to these 2 A-list actors.

Gosling held his relationships with McAdams and Bullock in high regard. Bullock was the first Gosling dated out of the two. The two met on the set of the feature Murder by Numbers, but they dated for less than two years. Surprise! Legendary director Barbet Schroeder, in Locarno to introduce his latest doc “Ricardo and Painting,” was greeted with a Special Tribute Award before the screening.
“Is this for the film?” Shroeder, a modest man, asked on stage. “No,” said Locarno festival director Giona Nazzaro. “It’s for being Barbet Schroeder.”
Despite focusing on harsher subjects in his previous documentaries, “General Idi Amin Dada: A Self Portrait,” “Terror’s Advocate” or “The Venerable W.,” this time Schroeder decided to follow painter Ricardo Cavallo.
“I have already done my ‘Trilogy of Evil.’ I could continue: the world is full of bad people. But then there was this friend of mine, who I thought was such a good person,” he tells Variety.
Cavallo, convinced that “true life exists in creation,” could teach anyone how to change their way of seeing, claims Schroeder, sacrificing everything for his art.

The nonogram is a notable Japanese creation, a numbered logic-based puzzle which has now found its way into the upcoming indie visual novel, Nonorelia. It’s definitely not the first time nonograms have found their way into video games - or visual novels in particular - but the combination is a good starting point for light interactivity in a genre that typically emphasizes choices and reading.
Screen Rant recently previewed Nonorelia and came away from it enjoying the available nonograms and difficulty levels, but the effectiveness of the science fiction story at its heart is presently unclear. Nonorelia’s narrative is almost fully voice acted throughout, but some of the central performances and characterizations present a challenging contrast for anyone who isn’t just clicking through the text content.

As a visual novel, Nonorelia contains some unique qualities.

His first media job was as a teleprompter operator and he quickly rose up the ranks in UK television.
He made his feature debut in 1971 with Get Carter, which he wrote and directed. Starring Michael Caine, it follows a London gangster who returns home to Newcastle after learning about the death of his brother.
Hodges initially wrote the role of Jack Carter for Ian Hendry and was surprised to learn that an actor as prominent as Caine would...

Breaking through at 50 miles per hour, Sandra Bullock hasn’t slowed down since “Speed.” Although the veteran performer’s first acting credit belongs to a minor part in the 1987 thriller “Hangmen” (which she’d follow up with a handful of straight-to-video releases and TV projects), Bullock didn’t become a household name among movie lovers until the mid ’90s.
After dazzling audiences and the box office as bus-jumping hero Annie Porter in the 1994 smash hit “Speed” opposite Keanu Reeves, Bullock was regularly cast in action-packed suspense flicks and lighter rom-com fare. She’d lead in both Jon Turteltaub’s charming romance “While You Were Sleeping” and Irwin Winkler’s cybercrime thriller “The Net” in 1995. The following year, she’d star in rom-com “Two If By Sea,” legal drama “A Time to Kill,” and historical novel adaption “In Love and War.” Of course, the future two-time Academy Award nominee (one time winner) was just getting started.

Damon Lindelof and Tara Hernandez’s Peacock series “Mrs. Davis” has cast Margo Martindale, Andy McQueen, and Ben Chaplin.
The trio join previously announced series leads Betty Gilpin and Jake McDorman in the series. Exact plot details are being kept under wraps, aside from the fact the show is described as an exploration of faith versus technology. It was previously reported that Gilpin will play a nun who battles an artificial intelligence in the show.
Martindale is a celebrated character actress with three Emmy wins to her name — one for “Justified” and two for “The Americans.” Her most recent TV credit is for “Impeachment: American Crime Story,” in which she played Lucianne Goldberg, who encouraged Linda Tripp to record conversations with Monica Lewinsky. Martindale is also known for playing a heightened version of herself in the critically-acclaimed Netflix animated series “BoJack Horseman.”

Ryan Reynolds has managed to coax beloved 80s actor Rick Moranis out of retirement for a hilarious new ad for his mobile network company, Mint Mobile. The Ghostbusters star has been famously retired from Hollywood since the 90s, when he elected to focus on raising his children. In recent years, he’s appeared in the odd project here and there, but nothing major. Now, though, the Deadpool actor has got him back for this commercial just to give us something to smile about in 2020.
This morning, Reynolds dropped the ad online on his Twitter account. “Today @Mintmobile is launching unlimited for just $30 And bringing back Rick Moranis,” he said in his caption. “Suck it, 2020.”

When he came onboard as artistic director at the Deauville American Film Festival in 1995, Bruno Barde went about retooling the event.
He started by introducing the official competition — to showcase new voices in American independent cinema before a predominantly French jury — and thought to make his vision for the festival clear with an unmistakable visual.
“I saw us as a French perspective on American cinema,” Barde says. “So it’s no accident that the poster [that year] featured a bridge linking Deauville to New York.”
In planning this year’s poster, which features a pensive Kirk Douglas in profile, the festival chief wanted to convey a similar set of intentions.
“When Kirk passed away [in February], I knew we had to honor him. We put him on the poster, with that look towards the future, because he was a man who always looked to the future, who was also a kind of bridge.

Although it still has a long way to go to catch up to Netflix, HBO Max is gradually building a reputation for both an impressive library of content and its own original programming. As well as reportedly working on a number of Batman-focused series, the WarnerMedia streamer is also absorbing shows from DC Universe, and funding the Snyder Cut of Justice League. We now know what’s coming to HBO Max in September, and there’s plenty there for subscribers to sink their teeth into.
The big original series highlight next month is the Ridley Scott-produced Raised by Wolves, which explores two androids raising human children. Created by Adam Guzikowski, the program could be one of HBO Max’s first big hits with critics and audiences, and is set to arrive on September 3rd. WarnerMedia’s grand streaming experiment continues apace with HBO Max’s list of new releases for September 2020.
This month, HBO Max is bring some serious dramatic heat with the Ridley Scott-directed sci-fi series Raised by Wolves arriving on Sept. 3. In addition to those intriguing original offerings, HBO Max is making the best of its WarnerMedia library this month. Doctor Who season 12 makes its long-awaited streaming debut on Sept. 1. Also arriving on the first of the month are Clerks, Election, and the hopefully-not-too-timely V for Vendetta.
Recent horror hit The Invisible Man arrives on Sept. 19. It is complemented by HBO Max original comedy Unpregnant on Sept. 10.

Ryan Reynolds never misses an opportunity to take hilarious self-deprecating shots at some of the more ignominious entries from his notoriously checkered CV of movies and television. The latest such example, a campaign for his Mint Mobile premium wireless company, takes a shot at his film flop, Foolproof.
Enter Mint Mobile+, a mock streaming service set up by Reynolds, bearing an accompanying website that entices would-be subscribers by showcasing the content available to stream. However, said content simply consists of one movie, Foolproof, which has been repackaged in numerous entries across the platform’s entire (Disney+ imitating) interface. Reynolds spent the last week dangling this proverbial carrot with “80 minutes” of “bingetastic unoriginals” that will stream in “2003 DVD quality.” Check out his “trailer” for the service just below.

Every tech company needs a streaming service. Or so says Ryan Reynolds.
He does have a point, too. Indeed, in recent months, the streaming market has been flooded with a ton of new platforms all hoping to become the next Netflix. Some have been successful, others not so much. But the trend shows no signs of slowing down and hoping to get in on the fun, Mr. Reynolds has now launched one of his own.
Taking to Twitter, the Deadpool star has announced the debut of Mint Mobile +. Billed as the “world’s most affordable streaming service,” the actor is inviting his fans to “binge over 80 minutes of Ryan Reynolds” in “2003 DVD quality.” Seriously, we’re not kidding. Just see for yourself below…

“Spider-Man” remains the fifth-biggest Marvel hit, behind the three “Avengers” titles and “Black Panther.” (All figures and comparisons are adjusted to 2020 ticket-price equivalents.) To this day, “Spider-Man” remains the biggest Marvel title not released by Disney.
To be very clear: “Spider-Man” was...
