John Portanova’s award-winning “Hunting Grounds” (formerly known as “Valley of the Sasquatch”) is some real worst-case scenario horror, as it centers on a father and son who must contend with an angry clan of Bigfoot. Not just one Bigfoot, and not even a particularly happy one, but a whole mess of pissed off Sasquatch.
The winner of Best Sci-Fi Horror Film at the 2015 Toronto Independent Film Festival is now set for release thanks to Uncokr’d Entertainment, finally allowing more Bigfoot-crazed cinephiles to see what happens when the furry monsters stop being polite and start getting real.

Jon Nguyen’s intimate look at American original (and one of Hollywood’s last true auteurs), the incomparable David Lynch, promises to take its audience inside Lynch’s world in never-before-seen fashion.
Despite its title, Nguyen’s new documentary, “David Lynch: The Art Life,” isn’t solely focused on Lynch’s artistic pursuits — both behind the camera and in front of the canvas — it also explores Lynch’s early life and his various motivations for his various activities, all bundled up in his intense need to credit.

Nguyen and his team were granted unprecedented access to Lynch and his family to make the film (billed as a “private memoir,” if you’ve any doubt just how personal this project goes), and first started shooting in 2012 (incidentally, when Lynch’s youngest daughter,...

Fans of 2013's "The Purge" should ready themselves with round two from "The Purge: Anarchy," to the strains of the same composer from the first scary flick. Nathan Whitehead returned to score the sequel, and HitFix today exclusively reveals the first piece to arrive from the soundtrack: the ominously titled "Don't Do This." Check out the song below. “Scoring ‘The Purge: Anarchy’ was thrilling,” Whitehead said of the new music. “Everything is bigger this time; the action, drama and tension all take place on a much larger scale. I worked hard to incorporate this larger scope in the music, and we went much further combining aggressive electronics and textures with a live orchestra. It was such a satisfying challenge, and I hope my score delivers the intense experience that moviegoers are looking forward to having.” The original soundtrack will be be released on July 15 via Back Lot Music, while the...

Luke Tipple serves as Game Master on Capture
In the new CW competition reality series, Capture, 12 teams of two people are dropped into a remote, mountainous area for one month and must compete with scarce rations and primitive conditions to be the last team standing and take home a cash prize of $250,000. Each week, different teams are deemed ‘The Hunters’ while the remaining teams are the prey and the hunt – a somewhat softer version of The Hunger Games - is on.
The host of Capture is hunky Aussie survivalist/marine biologist Luke Tipple and with three gay men vying for the end prize, there’s bound to be not only intense competition but also the breaking of certain gay stereotypes.
Just before the second episode of the new series airs tonight, we grabbed some time with Tipple and out contestant James Wallington to talk about the show and...

7. Cyrodiil
Cyrodiil has always been the seat of power in Tamriel, the heart of the various Empires that have arisen throughout Tamriel's history and the setting for Skyrim's predecessor, Oblivion. After the events of Oblivion, with the end of the Septim Dynasty, the Empire that had controlled all of Tamriel began to crumble, and during the "The Infernal City" and "Lord of Souls" novels based between the events of Oblivion and Skyrim the newly-arisen Mede royal family were struggling to maintain order across the Empire. The results of this are later seen in Skyrim, after the ineffectual Empire are forced to allow the secession of a number of provinces in order to grant them independence - as well as being invaded and subjucated by the imposing Aldmeri Dominion. In Skyrim, the Dragonborn is given the option of assisting either the Empire or the competing nationalist faction, the Stormcloaks, in rising to power in the region.

Here it is, round four of the Wolverine and the X-Men DVD releases. These partial season releases are clearly aimed at the younger crowd who don’t yet know the joy of buying a season all at once in a big set. Thus, keep in mind that this entire review is intended more for parents buying the episodes for their children and not fans looking to be proud owners of one of the best animated Marvel series in a long time. With that said, this release is a mixture of standalone episodes, saga installments, and a bookend to the major plotline of the previous DVD release. Do the standalone and saga episodes balance out the “Huh?” factor that comes from starting a disc with no “previously on Wolverine and the X-Men…” announcement for a storyline that badly needs it?

As one would have expected, Marvel revisited the animated adventures of their merry mutants to capitalize on the anticipated success of the Wolverine feature film. As a result, the fourth iteration is named Wolverine and the X-Men and the first season aired throughout 2009 on Nicktoons. Lionsgate has been dutifully collected handfuls of episodes for single-disc collections with the fourth volume, containing five episodes, being released Tuesday.
While the X-Men, their friends and foes are familiar, this has no bearing on the previous animated series or the comic book source material, As a result, we’re getting yet another look at familiar themes and storylines such as the Days of Future Past and Genosha. Unlike the immensely popular 1990s Fox series, this has fewer sub-plots that require episode to episode viewing. On the other hand, there are plenty of sub-plots running through the 26 episodes comprising the first season. There are also...
