The Fox people served up an official press release for tonight's new episode 9. So, we will certainly dive into it for this preview session. Let's go. In tonight's new episode 9, the semifinal rounds will take place. You guys are going to see two teams get hit with safety bake competition, which will require them to make a unique dessert dish. The team who wins it, will get immunity and sent to the finals. After that, the three other teams will have to compete in a baking challenge for a shot to make it to the finals.

Hulu will continue to be the U.S. streaming home for Fox’s “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” “The Masked Singer” and other shows for at least the next four years.

Fox Corp.’s Fox Entertainment and Disney’s Hulu announced a multiyear renewal of their content partnership, encompassing in-season streaming rights for Fox’s programming slate. The agreement also includes the extension of the marketing alliance the two companies forged in January 2023, under which Fox and Hulu branding jointly share presence across all Fox-owned and external consumer touchpoints “to align with live and on-demand viewing messaging of Fox content.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal renewal runs for a four-year term, sources said.

Fox Corp. does not operate its own subscription streaming service and has leaned on its Hulu partnership to monetize content in the subscription VOD space. Separately, Fox operates Tubi, a free, ad-supported streamer.

Fox Entertainment is extending its streaming partnership with Hulu for multiple years. Under this agreement, new episodes and seasons of Fox Entertainment shows like “The Masked Singer” and “The Simpsons” will continue to be available to stream on Hulu the day after their linear telecasts.

This deal also includes an extension of the two brands’ marketing alliance, which was first established in 2023. That aspect of the deal stipulates that Fox and Hulu share joint branding across all Fox-owned and external consumer points of contact.

“Our friends at Hulu and Disney Entertainment are exceptional partners, together driving ongoing mutual growth and strong results,” Rob Wade, CEO of Fox Entertainment, said in a Thursday statement to press. “Through our new agreement, we look forward to expanding on this impressive track record and collaboratively shaping the future of television in today’s shifting media landscape.”

Fox has done very well in the ratings with culinary-themed programs that have come from Gordon Ramsay. The Crime Scene Kitchen series hasn't been a hit in the ratings, but Fox has still renewed it anyway, in part because it's cheap to produce and it comes from the network's own Fox Alternative Entertainment division.  Will it be cancelled or renewed for season four? A baking guessing game, the Crime Scene Kitchen TV series is hosted by Joel McHale and is judged by chef Curtis Stone and cake artist Yolanda Gampp. Each episode begins at the scene of the crime -- a kitchen that was just used to make an amazing mouth-watering dessert that has since disappeared. This season, six pairs of family members and six pairs of friends go head-to-head to see who works better together in the kitchen.

In the latest TV show ratings… but pending possible adjustment due to Hurricane Helene-related news preemptions in some markets… ABC’s 9-1-1 was Thursday’s most-watched broadcast program, while CBS’ Big Brother delivered broadcast’s best demo rating.

Opening ABC’s night, 9-1-1 dialed up 4.77 million total viewers and a 0.5 demo rating, improving on its average Season 7 audience and matching its demo number; TVLine readers gave the episode an average grade of “A-.”

No premiere date has been set for Season 3 of the popular series at the time of this publishing, but the new episodes are currently in production. Season 2 aired in early 2023, with Paramount having renewed the show ahead of the Season 2 premiere.

Joel McHale has joined the cast of “Yellowjackets” for Season 3 in a guest star role, Showtime announced Tuesday. It’s not yet known who the “Community” alum will play, but it’s far more likely that he’ll appear in the contemporary storyline with Christina Ricci, Melanie Lynskey and Tawny Cypress than in the 1996 timeframe.

Male characters on the show have not fared so well, so start laying your bets about the odds of McHale making it to the end of the season.

We’re also not clear if his role will be as meaty as Elijah Wood’s, who was an integral part of Season 2 as Citizen Detective Walter Tattersall, or as fleeting as “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” star John Cameron Mitchell, who appeared in just one hallucinogen-induced scene in a single episode.

Fox has unveiled premiere dates for its fall schedule, including new and returning scripted, unscripted and animation series.

The 2024-2025 television season kicks off with the series premiere of the new animated comedy Universal Basic Guys on Sunday, Sept. 8, immediately following the Fox NFL doubleheader. Universal Basic Guys will make its time-period premiere as part of Fox’s Animation Domination block below.

“This year, we created a terrific collection of originals that deepens our network’s legacy of delivering unexpected, unforgettable characters and stories,” said Fox Television Network President Michael Thorn. “We’re bullish about the future and optimistic about the fun and engaging entertainment in store for our viewers everywhere.”
