Great story, not too funny that it will lose its meaning and not much dramatic it will makes you hold your laughs. Its a mix of both.
The acting from the 3 main characters are outstanding and the vibes between them are great.

But honestly wow!! It's a dark comedy and I really did giggle a lot. I also had tears in my eyes/almost cried more than once. I even felt scared at one stage. It has it all. I loved the characters and really felt for them and believed in their chemistry. I'm so sick of people saying that because he's overweight he would never get a girl like her...I found his character so cute and appealing. The acting was great and I wish there was more!! Although I'm so glad they kept it short and sweet and didn't overdo anything.

My Review -
Wolf Like Me 2022 Stan
My Rating 9/10
This original Australian series set in Adelaide and The Outback but mostly filmed in Sydney and Broken Hill is described as a Genre bending series.
I suppose because it does cross Comedy Romance Thriller / Horror genres but all I can say is congratulations to the Production team and the cast for one of the most original and unexpected viewing pleasures for me so far this year.
Also congratulations for not dragging out the series just 6 episodes not more than 30 minutes each is enough for the first series to introduce us to 3 very interesting characters with enough plot development easily for another series at least .
. No spoilers at all as they would ruin the story except to say we have Gary who is an emotional wreck and struggles to provide for his daughter since the death of his wife.
Josh Gad is delightful as Gary a mid life plumpish Dad who is on the dating trail again and just can't seem to forge a connection with either his date matches or his feisty daughter Emma who is played delightfully by Ariel Donaghue.
Humorous and Bizzare situations advance quickly when Gary meets Mary played by Isla Fisher an actress that impresses me greatly.
Mary has a secret she can't bring herself to share with anyone. The universe brought these two together for a reason.
The on screen chemistry is great between Josh Grad and Ariel Donaghue and we need to see both these talented performers together again.
Abe Forsythe the writer and Director knows how to please an audience on screen and I hope he can expand on this first series of Wolf Like Me .
With regard to the show's second installment, here is the deal. Nothing has been stated officially yet, but we have good reason to believe that the series will be back for another round. For one, the most talked about aspects of the show are the unexpected plot twists and tonal shifts. With that said, it appears that the storyline can head in numerous directions if there is a second installment.
At the conclusion of Wolf Like Me another great comedy moment came to my mind from the Billy Wilder classic Some Like it Hot? Which has gone down as one of the funniest lines in movie history.
The very final scene when when Daphne (Jack Lemmon) removes her wig and finally explains to Osgood why she can't marry him - because she's a man that and Osgood just grins as only Joe E Brown could replying "Well, nobody's perfect." You'll have to see this series to know what I mean.

I became engaged at the get-go, and the story, the characters, picked up speed as the story raced along. The 'moon-crossed' lovers were evenly matched by the young actress that played the traumatized daughter.
There's a generous amount of humor, drama, and pathos in this Down Under tale about fate drawing people who need each other together, one collision at a time.
Sit back, turn off that part of your brain that wants to make everything rational and logical, and enjoy a howling good yarn.

This is different kind of love story from Down Under. I'm not sure why they cast Josh Gad in the lead role as Gary, a single father suffering from a literal case of puppy love. Maybe it was to attract the American market? Whatever the reason may be, he did a good job and the onscreen chemistry between Gad and Fisher was surprisingly believable. Isla Fisher as Mary, was adorable as usual. If you're expecting Olaf or the typical Gad humour you may be disappointed. This series is a drama not a comedy or horror.
Apart from the last episode it's not action packed, scary or full of Special FX, but at just under 3 hours in total, it's easy enough and engaging enough to binge. Who can't look at Isla Fisher for 3 hours?
This is not a standalone series. There needs to be a season 2 because the story hasn't finished.

It doesn't check the boxes.
The widower isn't a hot bod dad.
The kid isn't a complete a-hole.
The humor isn't forced.
The romance isn't sappy.
The horror isn't graphic.
Maybe this is why some reviewers are so confused or cannot get behind the cast or the concept. Because it doesn't fit the standard formula of a rom-com. Or a horror-romance. Or anything else that is out there.
And I say GOOD!

Sure the limited effects were a bit cheesy and it should have been a 2-hour movie instead of a 3-hour miniseries, but nevertheless it was enjoyable overall :-) All three main characters including the young girl gave convincing performances.

I have to say upfront this is not at all my move genre - in fact, a totally unique offering nothing like anything I have seen and holding nothing that I would generally like. Yet I was totally captivated and binge watched all 6 episodes hoping another season comes soon.
The relationships are absolutely delightful, the cast brilliant and so many layers of meaning and significance. I felt like I could meet them down at the supermarket and have a chat - very relatable.
This mini series is 00% a bravo. Just don't review it expecting something standard - that is not fair as it is a tightly woven piece of relationship art with a little black comedy and supernatural features added for colour and texture. It is heartfelt and beautiful as a very ordinary man, his daughter and a lost soul find each other and learn to accept the idiosyncrasies each brings to the table.

The show's pretty confusing on what it's trying to be at first but it feels intentional so that you feel the same when watching it, confused. I don't know what kept drawing me to keep watching. I felt how Gary felt when Mary was disappearing out of nowhere, for the first couple episodes just asking what's going on. The acting is great by the three leads, the chemistry between them that helps you understand everything from each of their point of views. Pacing makes it seem all over the place and only starts to make sense later on and I couldn't have guessed to where this was going because it starts off as a romantic comedy which it is but there's more. The emotional aspect sorta falls off towards the end but I think that's a result of trying to conclude the story, and you're already invested by then so it's not much of a blow. It's very original and peculiar, probably something that could've been made into a movie as well which is something I'm grateful that they didn't try to drag out the six short 30min episodes.
I'm surprised it wasn't really advertised(maybe in Australia?), it's not the best thing you'll ever see but sorta a little gem still; probably forget about it in due time but I enjoyed watching it. It's not trying to do the most. Best to avoid all trailers and definitely something you must commit to watching in it's entirety and not giving up on the first episode.
I just read it's been renewed for S2, a little surprised because it felt like a miniseries plus the shock value, which the next season won't have, was one if it's best qualities. It's well made and very minimalist so there's a lot of places the story could still go so I'm curious which way it will.

If I had written my review after Season 1, this show would be an easy 8/10. The acting is strong from the three main characters, the premise is intriguing, and all together the first season delivered a fast-paced, entertaining, and compelling story that was equally touching, funny, and frightening.
Unfortunately, that all goes away in Season 2. I stopped watching after Episode 5, because nothing about this season makes sense. Except for Emma (the child), the main characters devolve into unlikeable, nonsensical messes, doing things because the writers apparently love drama instead of things happening because they're reasonably possible. New characters are introduced who serve absolutely no purpose other than to stir up more drama, and in the aftermath of such drama no one is behaving in believable ways. I'm very sorry to see this show go this way. Maybe they should have wrapped it up as a Limited Series after Season 1 instead of trying to peddle the crap that was Season 2.

What a unique, fresh story. Love love loved it. Six short episodes, so easy to watch, and interesting characters. Josh Gad and Isla Fisher are a mismatched, yet gorgeous pair.
This is a series begged to be watched in one sitting. Feature length would have worked better. Unlike comparisons to Santa Clarita Diet, the 'supernatural' is metaphoric of grief, mental illness and love. Viewed through this prism, it is a beautiful tale. Yes, many small tweaks could be made but, arguably, it's those imperfections which add to the power of the argument. Make it through the first 3 episodes and you will be reimbursed with its finale.
I won't say much, as I don't want to spoil it. The main reason I watched this is because of Isla Fisher. I have loads of time for her, mainly because she's in one of my all time favourite comedies, "Wedding Crashers". She's charming, genuinely talented and hilarious, and absolutely beautiful, even in her mid forties (she's also a fast runner, you'll see what I mean if you watch this). Also, I thought it might involve werewolves, which interest me, I won't say whether it does or not. Josh Gad is fine, the actress who plays his daughter does a great job, and Fisher is quite moving, good acting all round. I will say I find it unfeasible that Fisher would go for Gad, they're respective attractiveness levels are miles apart. Each episode is about 25 minutes, a fine length in my opinion, and there are only 6 of them, so it's not a slog. I don't normally say this, but there could stand to be a couple more. It's not perfect, but it's interesting, and genuinely funny at points. If you think you might like it, it's not a big time commitment, so check it out.

Low budget Australian series with Americanism. Short love story chapter episodes allow you to watch casually. Its not original idea and even reminds me of copied ideas and directing from the 1980s Australian and American horror genre movies inpsiration for scenes. Parts of the non-essential plot seems hillarious from bad Adeliade drivers, to Victorian cliche, to over the top pedestrian busy suburban streets. Don't take me wrong, its very watchable and had great comments on fb from viewers. Season two would help wrap up some the questions, and now a "situation" that has developed.

That was really good. The acting was good. The characters believable.
I had never heard of it, but starting watching because of the genre and the fact that it was 6 short episodes. I felt like watching something quick.
My highest praise to the writers. The story was great. Thank you. You made my day better.

It's not a terrible show.
Some of the jokes land and the main characters are generally quite likeable but the conflicts aren't very compelling.
There are musical interludes or montages that you can skip without missing anything, and sometimes it feels like neighbours or home and away with a werewolf.
I can't recommend this as its not good enough for that but I also wouldn't say it needs to be avoided.
Some of the dialogue is fun and the acting from Isla Fisher, Josh Gad and Ariel Donoghue is good, probably better than the scripts and the show deserve.
Overall it's a bit of an odd mix that works quite well some of the time and feels like a bit of a stretch at others.

I've started watching this show because I saw a fantasy genre series with a promising yet cliche plot.
Well, it's anything but that. It's a mix of drama with humour, often dark humour (similar to the type of humour usually provided by British shows) which is perfectly delivered by characters whose odd behavior gives this series an edge. Furthermore, storyline is pretty unpredictable maybe except for the last episode where you can tell from the start what major plot twist is just waiting to happen.
I haven't watched many Australian series but when I do I always seem to like it. So give it a chance and watch at least 3 episodes before you make your mind about it.

I found this show to be very refreshing. It has the perfect pace to keep you engaged and entertained and has a rather unusual story. The episodes are pretty short and pass by so fast. I would have given it a higher score if it had a few more episodes with better ending. It was entertaining but short. Good humor, fun, hoping for a next season. Having just 7 episodes at around 20 minutes is just too little, I watched them in one go. However it kept my attention and made me want more. I didn't expect to like it that much, didn't even think to watch it but saw the good reviews and I'm glad I did. Totally recommend.

I couldn't get past the child bullying her parent. I would not allow any child to talk to or treat anyone as badly as the girl in this show treats adults. I couldn't get past the first show.

I got into this show today not knowing anything about the plot and have not watched trailers or anything. I thought it was going to be a drama
Show about two people grieving and moving on based on the first episode but I was very wrong. It is so much more and very fun! This will probably get hate reviews so i am rating it 10! But it truly does deserve a 10. I wish there were more episodes. Great job!
