From pretty much start to finish this movie was a lot of fun. The animation quality is fantastic. I really enjoyed the relationship between Johnathan and Damien. I felt the writing was very true to the characters, and really well written. Voice acting was good. Action was great. Really no complaints. DC animation does it again. If only the live action, DC movies could compare with the animated ones. This one is well worth watching.
I don't want to spoil anything, so I won't - but I will say I was somewhat disappointed with their choice of villain. It worked for the plot... And it served almost more as a McGuffin, then as a real villain. That said, I wouldn't have minded something we haven't seen before in other media.

All those mister cranky-pants who gave this a weak rating really should stop and consider where this fits into the history of DC Animation. First, the retro design and colors are consistent with the short homage/montage at the begging. To those of us who remember where and when this all started, that was telling. And welcome. The script is sharp enough to withstand de-construction in film class, it establishes characters, sets a story arc, and builds nicely. There is a lot of humor and whimsy here too. An extra bonus is the development of the two boys against the backstories of their parents. It works well. Overall, one of the enjoyable animated features in years. ((Designated "IMDb Top Reviewer." Please check out my list "167+ Nearly-Perfect Movies (with the occasional Anime or TV miniseries) you can/should see again and again (1932 to the present))

Batman & Superman Battle of the Super Sons was a great movie. They took a gamble with that art style and I think it really paid off. The story was well written and light hearted. It can easily become a comfort movie for many. Johnathon Kent was probably my favorite character in the movie. I think having Starro be the antagonist was a smart choice and I like the spin they did on his design he looked pretty creepy and I loved that. I also enjoyed seeing all the other heroes. Hopefully DC continues putting out animated movies with different art styles because I enjoy seeing how different these characters can be designed by different artist. As someone who loves animation this movie felt like something I would wake up to watch on a Saturday morning when I was 10. Well done.

I've probably said this before, but I've always thought that if WB didn't make things so complicated, they would make all of their Live Action movies based on their animated line. DC animated movies are great!
The latest is just as entertaining as most of its predecessors. The only bad thing about this movie is that the origin of Superman is shown again. Although it's to also show another detail that will be important in the plot (which has also been done before), it's like the death of Batman's parents. It has been shown too many times!
All in all, an entertaining movie. I hope they continue to do more, despite the WB crisis.

As a fan of superhero films, I was open to enjoying Batman and Superman: The Battle of the Super Sons (yuck, that title), but was a little sceptical. Honestly movies focusing on children of established characters can be annoying. But thankfully, this movie perfectly captures the essence of the comic book characters, while delivering an entertaining and action-packed story.
The highlight of the film is definitely the chemistry between the two sons, Damien and Jonathan, who are trying to prove themselves as worthy successors to their fathers. The banter and rivalry between them is both humorous and endearing, making it a joy to watch.
The animation is solid, and an improvement from previous DC animated films, while the voice acting is also spot-on, with talented actors bringing these iconic characters to life.

When Jonathan Kent's powers all of a sudden kick in his father take him to go see Batman and his Son Damian to get a diagnosis. However, after Superman saves the Watchtower from falling out of Orbit the other night and Green Arrow fails to report in. The World's finest go up to investigate and falls victim to the influence of Starro the Conqueror, Now Jon and Damian have to save their fathers and the world. While the plot itself does seem rather far fetch for these characters. It is the Super-sons against a justice league villain. The movie is overall entertaining. It does do a good of setting up the relationship between Batman and Superman and their kids. However this is the Sons story and overall I enjoyed the chemistry between the two of them Jons is more of a dork like his father and Damian's a complete jerk, but you can't help to love him. Damian's hands down the funniest in the movie, showing u to the fortress of solitude the first time Jons speaks to his grandfather explaining his lineage, and Damian is like yeah no ain't got time for that. Although Jon does seem to have a bit more focus than Damian .heir developed enough that both have a character. It a fun movie overall and good for some laughs.

This is what the super sons feels. Its energetic, its fun and its super.
You get to see the relationship of superman's son Jon and Batman's son Damian as they try to save the world together. I think this is one of the best portrayals of damian in animated movies and Jon is great too. This movie gives great vibes and is packed with good animation, action and fight scenes. What's also great about this, they portrayed superman and batman really well. Even their fight scenes.
Its a little doozy until u meet batman but I think its worth it. The plot is simple and easy to follow.
I hope they release more films like this and more damian+Jon duo :)

First off the animation was spectacular. Top notched it felt like a higher quality production.
Overall the story was well done. Jonathan Kent discovers his dad is Superman (which is the odd part of the story that Lois and Clark tried and succeed to keep this from Jonathan for 12 years). It happens just in time for him to team up with the son of Batman and uses the mild powers he has to save the world from a Starro style invasion.
The relationship between Super Sons was well done as it developed and I also liked Lois Lane in the film. Starro was done better here than in The Suicide Squad as the villain was done more hunting a horrifying. More impressed by the voice actor who played superman than superman himself.
There are a lot of these movies on HBOMAX but I can already tell this one sticks out.

I am a huge dc fan but went into this with an open mind, that the movie might actually suck. However, I loved every minute. Everything from top to bottom was done very well. The cgi (Warner Brothers first ever all cgi movie) was done well and made the movie pop. The voices and acting we done, the relationship with the two boys was spot on with the comics and very entertaining. In my opinion it is a very compelling duo to watch. The story was a little straight forward but it works for this movie because there is a lot going on with the introduction of Johnathan to dcu there is a lot of back story and relationship development. It's a must see!

This is like they made A version of Auto Motion Plus but for cartoons.
DC Animated movies were doing great before they started using New52.
Sure there was the odd one that wasn't new52 related but wow are things getting bad.
The voices are getting worse now too and not very well casted nor thought out.
Clark sounds like he's trying to be Lex Luthor lol They would be veeeeeerrrry smart to not use this animation style again, AGAIN!
Having to have 600 characters is annoying so I'll tell you how the weather is here in Alberta.
Weather has been getting colder slowly day by day and I have to say it sucks because here comes useless winter.

As the planet Krypton is on the verge of exploding, Jor-El and Lara put their newborn son Kal-El in a spaceship bound for Earth. An alien parasite named Starro escapes his containment in Jor-El's lab and stows away on the ship before it is sent to Earth but falls off the ship shortly partway through its journey. The spaceship lands in Kansas where Kal-El is raised by Jonathan and Martha Kent, and named Clark. Clark discovers he has superhuman abilities and becomes Superman. He meet Batman and reveals his identity to Lois Lane; the two marry and have a son named Jon.
Years later, the Kents are living in Smallville. Jon is frustrated by his father's frequent absences unaware that Clark is Superman. One night, Superman saves the Justice League Watchtower from falling out of orbit after it is impacted by space debris. Superman has to leave to save Japan from a tsunami. On the Watchtower, Green Arrow is attacked by a creature.
The next day, at his birthday, Jon develops heat vision. Clark reveals that he is Superman and takes Jon to Gotham City to see Batman for advice on when or if the rest of Jon's powers could emerge. Jon meets Batman's son Damian Wayne aka Robin who is initially rude to him. Batman reveals to Superman that he has lost contact with the Watchtower and the two depart for the Watchtower to see what is going on after Superman drops Jon off back in Smallville. When Batman and Superman arrive at the Watchtower, a possessed Martian Manhunter infects them with Starro spores.
Returning to the Batcave, the possessed Batman attempts to infect Damian but the boy slices the spore apart. After Damian tricks Batman's spore into thinking that it has successfully killed him, he overhears that Starro has been able to infect both the Justice League and Teen Titans and intends to infect Jon next. Damian travels to Smallville where he and Jon escape an infected Lois. Jon uses his heat vision on the Starro spore infecting Lois which frees her from Starro's control. Damian and Jon travel to the Fortress of Solitude to use its Kryptonian technology to analyze a fragment of the Starro spore intended for Damian. After being mistaken for intruders by Krypto, they meet a holographic copy of Jor-El's consciousness. Jor-El explains that the Starro spores are being controlled by a central hive-mind Starro. Jon and Damian realize that Starro is on the Watchtower and if they take it out, it will free everyone who is under control by a spore.
Jon and Damian travel to the Watchtower in the same ship that brought Kal-El to Earth. On the Watchtower, they are apprehended by possessed members of the Justice League and the Teen Titans. Starro explains that he intends to drain the Earth of life after securing control over everyone. Jon's invulnerability manifests when he jumps in front of an arrow fired by the possessed Green Arrow at Damian and the duo is able to subdue the possessed heroes attacking them. Lois is able to contact Jon from President Lex Luthor's office and tells Jon that Starro is vulnerable to heat. They discover that Starro has grown stronger and Jon's heat vision is no longer enough to destroy him. They resolve to knock the Watchtower out of orbit in the hopes that Starro will burn up with it on re-entry.
After evacuating all of the subdued heroes on spacecraft back to Earth, they are able to set the Watchtower on a course for re-entry. They are attacked by Starro, but he is injured as the Watchtower begins to burn up on re-entry which causes all Starro spores on Earth to die. Unable to escape from the Watchtower, Damian and Jon admit their respect for each other. Freed from Starro, Superman intercepts the falling Watchtower and rescues Jon and Damian. Starro survives the fall to Earth where he is defeated by Jon, Damian, Batman, and Superman working together.
Afterwards, Damian and Bruce visit the Kent family in Smallville. Jon and Damian discuss a name for themselves before settling on Super-Sons.

Trying out a new animation style with this one huh... I think this is the third or fourth time DC has changed up their animation style and this time it looks like they took some ideas from the Marvel series "What If...?" (Which was an amazing show btw). I just don't think the animation fit this, but that is what that is, let's move on.
"Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons" is mostly about Batman's and Superman's sons trying to save the world from this thing called "Starro" which is such a lame supervillain and throughout the movie explores their bond and etc.
Look, this was no means a bad movie, or even an average movie. It was actually a little above average. I kind of had fun with it and sometimes not so much fun. I think it was fine for what it was... An almost 'family friendly'? DC animation movie.

Damian and Jonathan meet and join forces for the first time to stop Starro taking over the Earth's population (including Batman, Superman, the rest of the Justice League, and the Titans). Jack Dylan Grazer's Jonathan, Jack Griffo's Damian, and Troy Baker's Batman are fine, but Travis Willingham's Superman sounds off. Laura Bailey is a good Lois Lane, and Darin De Paul makes a good Lex Luthor. The plot's not complicated (my first sentence here literally sums up the whole thing) but this is as much about character-bonding as it is about story. Adult character designs are not great, looking slightly deformed at times (even allowing for comic book proportions), and the animation has way too much obvious CG, to the point where watching the characters run is like watching a video game. The tone veers weirdly between buddy comedy one minute, and downright horror with the parasite infections the next. But there are some genuinely funny lines in the interactions between Damian and Jonathan. And we get Bat-Cow. It's not something I'd ever buy, but it's okay. 6/10.

I think both the positive and negative reviews nail this. A lot of the dialogue is very cringe. At times it feels like this is made for kids, especially with the cheesy script and one liners. But it also gets violent, the Staros bursting out of the mouths and taking over humans is down right disturbing, and it does flaunt the occasional cursing lending this for a more mature (teen?) audience. Still, I couldn't help but get the feels for when Superman bonds with his son over being Kryptonian or seeing Batman and Damian have their occasional father-son moment. If you're a long time fan of either Batman and/or Superman and have followed their Saga with their respective sons over the decades, you may end up enjoying this despite the utter cringe.
Also it has has BatCow and Krypto the Super Dog. How can you hate a movie that has BatCow???

It's been a long time since a DC animated film made me feel this way!
I loved this movie. At first I was worried by the look of the art style and how it wasn't consistent with the other DC films but IT WORKED!
Loved how this film wasn't scared to introduce ridiculous characters from the comics (bat-cow). A lot of DC films are shying away from that to keep the serious tone.
I loved the characters and for once I felt like I gotten an accurate portrayal of Damien. He was perfect! Only complaint is to make his skin tone darker to represent his Arabic roots.
This filmed reminded me of the team ups in the Bruce Tim animated series.
Loved it, want a series.

Super amazing script and what a good writing ! After a super flop animation of Catwoman, DC is back with a bang ! This movie is absolutely amazing all with characters, script, story writing, animation and even in the sound ! Amazon movie , a must watch for superman and Batman fans out there ! Will definitely recommend one to watch this ! If felt great to see justice league all in action, not all characters were there but they managed to show some ! Teen titans refrence was good ! Hope this will lead to Teen Titan movie ! Great work by DC ! Hope to see more movies like this in future. Just don't ruin movies like Catwoman by animation !

I expected this to be an introduction of Superboy and Robin into the tomorrowverse. But no, this is a stand-alone CGI cell-shaded cartoon. The art-style is not the end of the world, the kiddy story is tolerable, even the action cinematography is not unwatchable. But the animation is atrocious. It's all jerky and choppy. 100 years of progress and this is what we came to. Plague, war, pixelart and faux-PS1 games, and movies with sub-300 FPS framerate. I said that garbage Spiderverse will destroy the industry faster than all the CGI weeaboo trash running at 5 FPS, and it did.
Lois looks barely 20 and the kid is 10+, did Clark knock her up when she was 11?

I am kind of new to the DC animated movies, yet have become a fan quickly, and watching more and more. This movie was right away a favorite, kept my interest from beginning to end. The storyline, development of new character relationships, and dialogue was never dull or, "slowed down," rather made me want to learn more and hopefully will with more movies in the future. The action scenes included were not atypical, seemed new and the right amount of drama and humor brought everything together that makes a movie one to watch again and again. The voice acting matched the characters spot-on, and I hope to see more movies in the same type of CGI animation.
Wow, nice to know that DC can still make some good movies, even if just the animated ones. Battle of the Super Sons ranks as one of the top 5 best DC presentations I've ever seen. Great animation, music, and storyline! Sometimes funny, sometimes horrifying, all done well. Lots of background trivia for longtime fans as well.
This is the first time I've ever seen this animation style (and it's better than most of the other DC animated films.) It's a successful combination of CGI and cel style anime that really works well. Somehow they were able to get facial expressions like I've never seen before.

The production by Matt Peter's, who directed a few mediocre dc animations before, cannot go beyond being a production that is a collection of clichés of both dc animation studios and classic American Teen age series.
The animation, which started with the opening credits of old-school batman and superman drawings, cannot maintain the same quality.
Jack Dylan Grazer, who entered the DC world with Shazam, is playing the role of superboy this time.
Even Troy baker/batman and nolan North / jor-el, who have produced very successful projects in the works they work together, could not add excitement to the animation.
DC is always ahead of Marvel when it comes to animation, but they've had a stagnant period for a long time.

Okay this movie has literally cured my life in October, I strongly suggest everyone who suffers from their high-stress life watch it ASAP. To speak out neutrally I might not give it a full credit rating due to the level of animation making, which I do think Warner Bro and DC could have invested more to promote. However, the plots are actually amazing and surprising enough to compensate its lacking in 3D skills. Everyone who reads DC comics might know Jon Kent has been aged up by a clearly wrong decision, making him lose his childhood and period of adolescence but become a immature adult to take a huge responsibility that shouldn't have been his. In this movie with Damian Wayne, he finally regain a chance to be a normal but special kid to experience and explore his own life with his best friend ever in lifetime, instead of being a tool or used symbol for LGBTQ by a straight male writer in comic book. He's merely a ten-year-old boy exploring his super-hero life with his friend and family, which is soooo valuable for me to see. Anyway, I do hope DC at least can have a sequel to this or they should try to fix up the pain that the terrible adult-Jon thing has brought to us fans:) Just bring back what was once the kiddos'
