Superstore is an incredibly underrated comedy that was so much better than I thought it would be, it really is laugh out loud funny. It's about about a bunch of odd employees and their everyday work and private lives at a megastore called Cloud 9. The characters are what drive this show, each one shows what living in today America is. This show has such a diversity in its characters, everything from race, age, sexual preference, body type, etc. It's rare when a show has so many hilarious characters that are all almost equally funny all on one show but Superstore definitely pulls it off. I've heard such great things about this show for a while but put off watching it. I thought I'd finally give it chance and I'm so glad that I did because everything I heard was true...it's one of the funnier shows of the last few years.
Superstore is pretty funny show that will have you laughing out loud. While I wouldn't put among my top 10-20 comedies I've ever seen, it's still funny enough to where it's worth watching. It's rare when a show has so many hilarious characters that are all almost equally funny. Shows like Friends, Seinfeld, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia & Parks and Recreation are great examples of that and those are among the best sitcoms ever. I'm not saying Superstore is as good as those all-time shows (not many shows are), it's still another sitcom where all the characters are equally funny. If you're looking for a good comedy that will have you laughing out loud then give Superstore a try. You won't be disappointed.

Superstore is so much better than I ever expected! Normally, I'm not really a fan of American humor; it often feels a bit forced or cliché. But this series truly surprised me. I'm now a fan!
The setting in a megastore is perfect for hilarious situations, and the characters are so relatable that you can easily picture them in your own life. From the overly enthusiastic manager to the awkward employees, everyone has their own unique charm. And let's not forget the bizarre customers. They're a goldmine for comedy!
What I really love is that the show isn't just about the jokes. There's a clever layer of social commentary that makes it even more enjoyable. The mix of humor and relatable situations keeps you watching, even if you're secretly doing something else.
So, if you think you don't like American humor, give Superstore a chance. It's an unexpected gem that will definitely make you laugh! Trust me, you'll be amazed at how addictive this series is.

I had never even heard of this show until it was suggested for me on Netflix, and I cannot believe how surprising it is that it is not much more popular. This show is such a pick me up. It's wholesome and sweet and romantic. I audibly laugh out loud at least once every episode. The writing is smart and quick. The characters have unbelievable chemistry, though, to be fair, America Ferrera is such an amazing actor, I would find it shocking if she ever didn't have chemistry with anyone.
On a slightly more serious note, as much as Jonah is considered dweeby by many of his coworkers on the show, I think, overall, his character is such a rare, excellent example of a decent man - which is so rarely seen on television. On tv men are often depicted as narrow, one-dimensional caricatures: domineering, facile, weak, or stupid. Jonah depicts a man with a full spectrum of emotion, strong, kind, gentle, and genuinely concerned about other people - a person of character and real conviction. It adds depth and quality and substance to a hilarious, fun, and often silly show.

I decided to give this shot one day while surfing Hulu. OMG I am so glad I did. It is one of my favorite shows. I've seen it so many times that I have it playing in the background while I work. All of the actors are fracking hilarious. Being able to watch a show that lets me escape the realities of life is such an awesome thing. Please give this a shot.

Jokes are awesome. Amy was great in the first 2 seasons, then she gets divorced and stereotypically goes nuts and jealous and oppressive mother of a 14 yr old jealous of her ex-husband there too. What a shame. Then it just gets predictable from there with Jonah.
However, there's some seriously laugh out loud and quotable moments. I am obsessed with this show even after all these years. It's just wholesome humor if you ignore inspecting your bosses punishment for a weird mole, or sex in his office or dead body for weeks in a wall. Stupid situations, yet not far off from working in a corporate environment with district managers and all the protocol and rules. Worth the watch!

As a lover of sitcoms, this a great one. Superstore has really likeable characters, a surprisingly entertaining setting, and oddly engaging drama; it's generally a very well written show. The reason I didn't give this show a 10/10 is because a few characters in the show (Justine and Carol namely) didn't work for me, but overall, I adore this show and see it as one of the best modern sitcoms among the likes Brooklyn Nine Nine and Abbott Elementary. I had avoided this show for a long time because I figured it was just another show trying to replicate the success of The Office, and there are a few elements of The Office sprinkled in here, but the cast and writing take what could have been a bland recreation in a new setting and elevated it to a gem of a show.

I like this series but i don't like Amy as character. I got nothing against america ferrera as actress. I find that character annoying and exaggerated. My initial vote for first 2 seasons was 8, but when they decided to force things in the most predictable way (i can't write it beacause i hate spoilers, but you really can imagine it...) i found it stupid and now every scene with amy get me nervous.

I gave the show a great review in season 1, and it only got stronger through season 4. The jokes were sharp, funny, and witty, and the background gags were even better than the one liners. Dina is one of the best characters on TV (later joined by Marcus), and there have been episodes that have literally been a laugh a minute.
So what happened to season 5? Characters that I used to find quirky are now grating, Jonah may be the most irritating, judgmental male character on network television, Dina has lost both her wit and her edge - she been essentially neutered, Marcus is now a one note, buffoonish stand in for the stereotypical dumb straight guy. Mateo is a PC wet dream, Amy is that angry feminist we all pretend to listen to, but secretly try to avoid, etc.
There are still some laugh out loud moments here and there, but the show is choosing a bully pulpit over comedy, and when bad things like this start happening to good shows, I lose a bit more of my faith in the entertainment industry's ability to actually entertain.
It will take some writing talent to bring this show back from the brink, but I think it's one season away from relying on guest stars to do most of the work.

The writers of this show achieved something quite remarkable. They created an ensemble of quirky and endearing supporting characters that are hilarious. And two lead characters that are very unlikeable and annoying. Neurotic, dishonest and consistently condescending to everyone around them.
Why is America Ferrara not given top billing on IMDB for this show? She's the main start. Her name appears first on the opening credits. So curious as to why IMDB would have her in 7th.
Besides that little IMDB hiccup, this show is funny, witty and all the characters are well written. There's your silly comedy but also a darker humor with some sexual innuendos. Storyline actually keep right on track from season to season and American Ferrara is a joy to watch back on the small screen. It's a great more mature role from her Ugly Betty days. This show is absolutely worth the watch, especially any time you need a good laugh.

How is Superstore.not a super hit? It's a collaborative effort with s great ensemble. I love watching Dina. Jonah Simms is the character and reluctant employee. He and Amy have instant chemistry. Six seasons and over a 100 episodes, the cast looks like they're having fun and so are we, the audience. I loved Sandra and Glenn. Dina points out that Sandra moved from Hawaii to St. Louis. Glen Is just a lovable manager. I think the series could have gone on further too. It wasn't promoted enough. Once you start laughing, you can't stop at the absurdity. Anyone in retail will tell you the craziness is real.

The more I watch it, the more I like it. The characters are all progressively more defined and interesting and they all mesh well together. Anyone who's ever worked in the service industry might feel nostalgic watching it-- crappy corporate jobs bring the little guys together and you become a family without even realizing it. This show is an inside look on that. It's fun for the whole family to watch and the jokes are always fresh. Definitely recommend it.
I have only just come across this series when it popped up on my Netflix. I was wanting to watch something different to my usual watching and thought I would give this a go.
I'm so glad I did!
I laugh out loud every episode. Some of the scripts are borderline "wrong" and I love the fact that they are! The actors really make them hilarious to the point they go mostly unnoticed - but that just shows how brilliant this show is.
The writing is great, the acting is great!!
I can't wait to watch the rest - I'm currently on Season 2 and I only started watching it this morning!

I disagree completely that the plot is underdeveloped, and the characters might be somewhat cliché, but that's the idea. In my opinion this is what every story with a message does. It takes archetypes as representatives of all people in a society and shows their reactions, no one would say that Breakfast Club is clichéd because it plays with the archetypes to convey the message. And Superstore does the same, it shows prejudice, narrow-mindedness (from poor to educated and the other way round, both sides!!)wrongly understood sense of love or duty etc. etc., in short: all the topics that emerge between people at a workplace or in society and it does this very cleverly, very holistically and most of all: with a lot of great and refreshing humor -and without mocking its characters - great fun with sensitivity and a message, perfect entertainment, 10 points!

This show borrows its format from the British series "Trollied", focusing on the shenanigans of employees of a fictional department store/supermarket. There are some genuine laugh out loud moments - the Dina character gets a lot of the best lines, but the main two characters Amy & Jonah are a little bit clichéd. The writers force- feed the audience the basic set up in the first 2 minutes where it's obvious that long time employee Amy will be the love interest of new starter Jonah. From there all the other fringe characters are introduced with their overly exaggerated quirks (the creepy one, the gay one, the white trash one, the dedicated one etc etc). It's not terrible, some characters have funny moments, but ultimately ít always comes back to the schmaltzy main story arc of when will Amy & Jonah get together. Nothing groundbreaking here 6/10.

I like this show and find it really funny. Yet after four season I wish they would concentrate less on highly annoying Amy and highlight some of the other characters more.

This used to be the funniest show on TV??? Lately the writing has been so bad that there hasn't even been anything funny to laugh at for the last 10 episodes. Please Please do something to fix this before I take this off my favorites list. You have a great cast of characters do something (ANYTHING) to make this show better!!!

Started watching this after it was added to Netflix UK, and we've finished all 5 seasons in a week! Can't believe it's been cancelled after 6 seasons, it is so hilarious and easy to watch. I hope Netflix commission more seasons for their platform (fingers crossed).

Honestly, I throughly enjoyed watching the first three episodes of this show. The jokes were funny, the visual humor was great, and the acting is at minimum, decent. The show itself is a funny concept. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this show. In my mind, it's the best new comedy I've seen on TV all season.
I mark this show down for two reasons: first, some of the jokes and plot points are a bit cliché. However, there is a lot of new material here as well. My other concern is the fast pace. A fast moving episode is fine, but the first episode seems to lack a plot because there are so many different things going on. I think both issues of these improved with the subsequent episodes.
If you enjoyed The Office or Unbreakable Kimmy Schmitt, I would definitely consider watching this show. It's got quirky humor and a unique blend of characters. If you like those things, this show may be for you.
