Grosse Pointe Garden Society is taking root amid murder and mayhem.
NBC on Friday released the first trailer for the forthcoming drama, which premieres Sunday, Feb. 23, at 10/9c. (People was the first to report the news.) In the series, a group of suburbanites reveal the first rule of their local gardening club: Everyone must have each others’ backs. Shouldn’t be too hard, in theory, except that Grosse Pointe Garden Society looks like it’s dealing with homicide, arson and more seedy misbehavior. (Oh my!)

How I Met Your Mother celebrates romantic and platonic love. Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel) and Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders) are not the most obvious duo of the How I Met Your Mother cast, but they have a special friendship that plays out in subtle ways. Marshall is best remembered for his loving marriage to Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan), and Robin's storyline in later seasons became a love triangle involving Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) and Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor.) However, Marshall and Robin have an underrated friendship with plenty of heartfelt and hilarious moments.
They might not have had the most screen time together, but from unexpected displays of vulnerability to gestures that show how well they truly understand each other, their rare moments together show how much they care. Marshall's optimism and goofiness were a great counterbalance to Robin's more acerbic sense of humor and pragmatic nature. With the...

NBC has ordered a drama pilot from Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs.
The project is titled “Grosse Pointe Garden Society.” The official logline reads, “Four members of a suburban garden club, all from different walks of life, get caught up in murder and mischief as they struggle to make their conventional lives bloom.”
Bans and Krebs serve as writers and executive producers on the pilot. Bans will executive produce under her Minnesota Logging Company banner along with Casey Kyber. Universal Television, where both Bans and Krebs are under overall deals, will produce.

“Expats” star Sarayu Blue remembers the first time imposter syndrome bowled her over.
She was on set for David E. Kelley’s “Monday Mornings” with the “inimitable” Alfred Molina, who just performed a big speech in a key scene.
“We got done, and we were walking to our rooms and he turned back and he said, ‘Was that all right?'” Blue recalled in a conversation with IndieWire. “And I looked behind me cause I thought, ‘Well, he can’t be asking me, who the hell am I?'”
After assuring Molina that he was “brilliant,” Blue remembered realizing: “In that moment, I thought ‘Oh, we never quite release that impostor syndrome.’ We always will check. ‘Did I get that? Did we get it?’ It was a beautiful moment, and I love him so much.”

The idea that Ted changed the details of How I Met Your Mother’s story reshapes the series, with the theory ruining some of the sitcom’s most-loved moments. Debuting in 2005, How I Met Your Mother was a hang-out show with a laugh track about six friends navigating life, love, and work in New York, so it immediately needed to differentiate itself from Friends. Friends had recently finished its legendary ten-season run and How I Met Your Mother could have been accused of stealing the show’s premise if it weren’t for one vital change.
Unlike Friends, How I Met Your Mother had a narrator. Ted’s How I Met Your Mother narration let the show establish a unique tone. The central conceit of the series was that Ted was telling the story of How I Met Your Mother to his children in the future, which gave the sitcom...

The idea that Ted was not totally honest in his narration could change How I Met Your Mother’s story completely and it is an interpretation of the series that the show’s creators agree with. The premise of How I Met Your Mother allowed the series to stand out in a sea of Friends imitators that were green lit after the 2004 finale of the long-running hit sitcom. Unlike Friends, How I Met Your Mother had a narrator and this older version of Josh Radnor’s Ted (voiced by the late Bob Saget) was not always reliable.
Ted’s point of view often colored the stories seen in How I Met Your Mother, although it was never clear how much his perspective shaped the events of the series. While Ted’s foggy memory was occasionally a source of meta-jokes, How I Met Your Mother never explained whether Ted made Barney...

Okay, so you're about to read a thousand-odd words about why "Rocky III" features the greatest training montage of all time. But before you continue, just stop right now and listen to this song.
Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed listening to one of the greatest, most iconic, most inspirational rock tracks ever recorded. Look, the entirety of "Rocky III" could be a single, long, and unbroken take of Sylvester Stallone pumping iron in a dimly lit gym, and as long as Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger" was playing underneath, it would still be one of the best movies of all time.
Yes, it's true that "Eye of the Tiger," while used multiple times during the movie, does not feature during the training montage. But oh, the training sequence in "Rocky III" is gloriously, wondrously, just as good as that badass song. So come along as we unveil the...

Exclusive: CBS is taking another shot at adapting the German police procedural dramedy Einstein, this time with major changes to the original concept.
The 2017 German series was a police procedural dramedy about the unknown great-great-grandson of Albert Einstein, a theoretical physics professor, who helps the police in solving murder cases.
The CBS take, written/executive produced by Insatiable creator Lauren Gussis and executive produced by American Gothic creator Corinne Brinkerhoff, centers on a roguish, out-of-the-box-thinking physics professor who happens to be the secret, illegitimate great-granddaughter of Albert Einstein. She begrudgingly partners with a Boston homicide detective not only to help solve the most puzzling of crimes, but also to address the problems ever-present inside the institution of policing itself.
In addition to switching the gender of the Einstein great-grandchild title character, the adaptation also provides 2020 perspective on policing, which has come under major scrutiny following the death of George Floyd.

The Billboard Music Awards went down in Los Angeles on Wednesday, and it was a big night for Brandy! The 41-year-old '90s icon performed for the first time ever at the ceremony, and we're just wondering what took so long? Brandy treated us to a soulful performance of her hits "Borderline" and "Almost Doesn't Count," as well as "No Tomorrow" featuring Ty Dolla $ign. The entire thing was so soothing and nostalgic, we didn't want it to end.
Brandy's Billboard debut comes three months after the release of her seventh studio album, B7. She cowrote and coproduced the project, which was a first for her. While speaking with Billboard magazine recently, Brandy explained that it was "really important for me to just discover that part of myself." She added, "I was working with some amazing people like DJ Camper and Lashawn Daniels, who helped guide me, and it was...
