Netflix on Friday released behind-the-scenes footage, along with first look photos, for Season 4 of the Julia Quinn adaptation. The images see sparks flying between Benedict (played by Luke Thompson) and a mysterious Lady in Silver (Halo’s Yerin Ha).

Exclusive: Max Beesley, Douglas Hodge, JJ Feild and Betty Gabriel have joined John Krasinski in the cast of the new Jack Ryan movie at Amazon MGM Studios. Also on board are Sienna Miller and Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly, returning cast from Amazon’s Prime Video series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan. Gabriel also appeared in the third and fourth seasons of the series.

Capitalizing on the success of the series, the film marks the next stage in the evolution of the franchise and is produced in association with Paramount Pictures and Skydance. Krasinski and Allyson Seeger are producing via Sunday Night. Andrew Form is also producing.

Andrew Bernstein, who served as an executive producer and director on Season 2 of the series, is directing the film from a script penned by Aaron Rabin and Krasinksi. Skydance’s David Ellison and Dana Goldberg are executive producing alongside John Kelly, Carlton Cuse...

Jac Schaeffer was originally going to take charge of Vision (which may or may not still be called Vision Quest) but moved on from the series to focus on Agatha All Along.

Vision is still expected to form part of the WandaVision "trilogy," though it feels like these shows are all building to the long-rumoured Scarlet Witch movie. If so, we'd bet on that adapting elements from Avengers: The Children's Crusade, as Wanda, Vision, Billy, and Tommy finally reunite.

Nexus Point News has spotted an update to cinematographer Christopher Ross' online résumé in which he lists Vision Quest as one of his upcoming projects. Interestingly, he also names the show's directors.

Showrunner Terry Matalas (Star Trek: Picard) will be part of the team stepping behind the camera, as will his 12 Monkeys collaborator, Christopher J. Byrne (American Gods).

“The Night Agent” has returned with many new faces. Now that Peter Sutherland is officially a night agent, he must take on a new conspiracy mission with a new team.

Gabriel Basso will pick up the action, starring as Peter, and Luciane Buchanan will return as Rose. Though the couple ended their relationship at the end of Season 1, when Rose hears Peter is in trouble, she jumps at the opportunity to rekindle their relationship.

Because this season follows Peter on a new mission, several members of the original cast will not be back for Season 2, though, including Hong Chau and Robert Patrick.

The actor, who played Kid Loki in the Tom Hiddleston-led Marvel show, posted a series of videos on the social platform in recent days, noting that he’s in search of housing accommodations near London.

“Hi. I’m a famous actor, I’m 17 and I’m homeless,” he said in a clip posted Sunday. “You may know me from Loki, The End of the F***ing World, or various other movies where I played important roles. I haven’t mentioned much about what’s been going on in my life, but I think it’s time to reveal the truth. Without delving too much into the details, I was abused at home. It was physical violence, emotional abuse and etcetera.”

Exclusive: Here are a couple of exclusive images of Inglourious Basterds star Diane Kruger in buzzy Paramount+ series Little Disasters.

Cannes Award-winning actor Kruger plays Jess in the adaptation of the Sarah Vaughan novel. When she takes her baby daughter to hospital with a head injury that she can’t explain, her close friend and on-duty A&e doctor Liz must make the excruciating decision of whether to call social services on her longtime friend. This decision sets in motion a chain of events that show how one moment can fracture and nearly destroy entire families and friendships. The show also stars Jo Joyner, Patrick Baladi (Ted Lasso), Shelley Conn, Emily Taaffe, JJ Feild, Ben Bailey Smith and Stephen Campbell Moore.

Kruger has had far more movie roles than TV but she did play Detective Sonya Cross in FX’s version of The Bridge last decade. The German actor, who broke out in 2004’s epic war film Troy, was described as an “intelligent and dynamic actress, whose sheer presence brings with it a unique quality that leaves you inspired” by Little Disasters director Eva Sigurdardottir.

“Attaching Diane allowed me to explore sides of Jess’ character in deeper ways than I had anticipated,” she added. “Little Disasters is a story of a warm and loving mother who is hiding a dark secret, and Diane navigated that character so elegantly, with relatable and warm performances, as well as truly haunting and thrilling moments.”

That relatability attracted Sigurdardottir to Little Disasters, she told us, along with a “tension and thriller engine rooted in very relatable and familiar domestic settings.”

“I am a filmmaker who is drawn to brutally real and gritty stories, and here we had a glamorous and aspirational setting, yet with a terrifying central conflict – a hurt child,” she added.

Marianna Abbotts is exec producing for Big Boys producer Roughcut TV, which has recently moved into drama. She said she “fell in love with” Vaughan’s novels after reading Anatomy of a Scandal. “Sarah often writes about professional women who are forced to make impossible decisions. At the heart of Little Disasters is a really difficult moral dilemma when one friend is forced to call social services on another,” she added.

To aid with tackling these sensitive topics, the Roughcut team worked closely with Vaughan along with multiple advisors. “We wanted to portray the issues in the book accurately and it was extremely important to get that right,” said Abbotts. “We consulted medical, police and social service advisers who guided us with accuracy and sensitivity while understanding the need to tell a dramatic story.”

Little Disasters is a six-part series for Paramount+ UK and Ireland. Ruth Fowler and Amanda Duke adapted the series for the screen with Roughcut Television EPs Ash Atalla, Alex Smith and Abbotts on board alongside Vaughan. Simon Judd EPs for Fremantle, Sigurdardottir is the director and Myf Hopkins serves as the producer. The series was commissioned by Sebastian Cardwell and Paul Testar and will premiere next year. Fremantle is handling global sales.

The "Pitch Perfect" franchise is kind of a strange beast, and it's not just because of the acapella. For some fans of genre storytelling, 2024 has been a bit of a disappointing year. The Boys season 4 didn't over with fans quite as well as past installments, the House of the Dragon showrunners are feuding publicly with George R.R. Martin, and the latest Star Wars content from Disney+ — The Acolyte — was extremely divisive among fans. Since these were some of the most highly anticipated and high-budget genre series of the year, it has left many fans of genre storytelling feeling a bit morose. There have been bright spots: the historical fiction series Shogun crushed it at the Emmy’s and I personally am really enjoying the return of The Legend of Vox Machina. But whether because of last year’s acting and writer’s strikes or because new seasons of shows are taking longer than ever to reach our screens, 2024 is definitely not the year that it could have been.

Exclusive: Jd Payne and Patrick McKay have named Kevin Jarzynski to be Head of Development & Production for their newly formed 10:40 Pm Productions. He will be tasked with overseeing the company’s television and film slate, while Payne & McKay ready a third season of Amazon Studios’ The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

It is a natural move for Jarzynski, who spent the past eight years as a senior development and programming executive at Amazon Studios, where he played a pivotal role in overseeing the studio’s largest tentpole series, working closely with showrunners and EPs Payne and McKay. Jarzynski was instrumental in developing the project, and was on the ground with the duo during production in New Zealand and London.

Last week, Audible launched the ten-part true crime podcast My Mom’s Murder, in which host Lauren Malloy “tells the story of how she believed her mother died of a heart condition but it turned out she was murdered.” Deadline reports that Malloy’s story is also being turned into a TV series that has Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick Ass) on board to star.

Produced by Ayr Media, the podcast version of My Mom’s Murder tells how Malloy uncovered the shocking truth about her mother Lori’s death in 1993. When Malloy was just an infant, her mother passed away and had grown up believing her passing was natural. When she discovers that her mother’s death was actually an unsolved murder, she sets out on a journey to discover the truth. The podcast follows Malloy as she confronts family members, interviews old friends, and unearths hidden evidence about her mother’s life and death.

The upcoming “Peaky Blinders” movie has revealed more original series stars who are returning for the crime drama’s next chapter.

Stephen Graham; Sophie Rundle; Ned Dennehy; Packy Lee (“Blue Lights”); and Ian Peck are all set to reprise their roles alongside Cillian Murphy’s Tommy Shelby. Jay Lycurgo has also joined the film in an undisclosed role.

In the final season of the original series, Graham portrays Hayden Stagg, the union leader for the Liverpool dock workers. Rundle was a mainstay throughout all six seasons as Tommy Shelby’s sister Ada, as was Dennehy as Charlie Strong, a sort of uncle to the Shelby siblings. The original RoboCop movie, directed by Paul Verhoeven in 1987, is about a super-powerful corporation called Omni Consumer Product (Ocp) in charge of privitizing the police force in Detroit, to disastrous results. It's an acidic takedown of pro-corporate Reagan-era policies, together with lots of the exaggerated violence and winking crudeness that Verhoeven is known for.

Since then, RoboCop has become something of a corporate playing piece itself, with two sequels, a 2014 remake I'd completely forgotten about starring Joel Kinnaman as the titular felled police officer resurrected as robotic law enforcer, and four different TV series coming out over the subsequent 30+ years. And let's not forget RoboCop hawking KFC, instant noodles, and wrestling in the WCW. Whoever controls the rights isn't that picky about what happens with the character.

Those people are at it again with a new TV series with Peter Ocko — who worked on the charming AMC series Lodge 49 — as showrunner.

Katie Leung (the Harry Potter franchise, The Peripheral) has been cast as Lady Araminta Gun. “Twice married and twice widowed, Araminta has two girls debuting on the marriage mart this season and is feeling the pressure to get at least one of them married off,” reads the character’s official description. “Fabulous, discerning and blunt, Araminta does not respond well when anything — or anyone — threatens her standing in society.”

While we wait for Fede Alvarez’s new movie Alien: Romulus to arrive in theaters next month, we’ve learned this week that filming has wrapped on the “Alien” TV series from FX.

The series had been filming in Thailand throughout the first half of the year, with production originally beginning last summer before being shut down due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

Jack Reynor is reuniting with his “Sing Street” director John Carney for the musical comedy “Power Ballad.”

He will star alongside Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas. Described as an “uplifting and music-driven story,” the film follows a wedding singer, a rock star — and the song that comes between them. It’s unclear who any of the three actors will portray.

This marks the fourth collaboration between Reynor and Carney following the musical comedies “Sing Street” and “Flora and Son,” as well as the Amazon Prime series “Modern Love.” Reynor is also known for Ari Aster’s horror film “Midsommar,” “Transformers: Age of Extinction” and Amazon’s TV series “The Peripheral.” He’ll be seen next in Netflix’s “The Perfect Couple” adaptation and Amazon’s series “Citadel,” now in its second season.

Details as to his role are under wraps, as are specifics of the plot, though the film is billed as an uplifting, music-driven story about a wedding singer, a rock star, and the song that comes between them. Deadline was first to tell you about the project.

Apple TV+ is bringing an adaptation of William Gibson's classic cyberpunk novel Neuromancer to the small screen, and a BAFTA-nominated star has joined the cast. Regarded as one of the greatest science-fiction novels ever written, Neuromancer introduced classic genre staples, including underground computer hackers, cyberspace, and an early incarnation of "the matrix." There have been attempts to bring the novel to the screen in the past, and Deadpool director Tim Miller was once attached to a movie adaptation, but nothing materialized. Now the novel is heading to TV in a 10-part adaptation on Apple TV+.

There’s a lot going on in the world of Alien at the moment. The original classic is returning to theaters, for starters, and the Xenomorphs will be fighting Marvel’s superheroes in the upcoming mashup comic Aliens vs. Avengers. Described as both a love letter to moms and tonally a cross between Home for the Holidays and Planes, Trains and Automobiles, the story centers on a woman named Claire Clauster (Pfeiffer) who organizes a special Christmas outing, but her family forgets her in the shuffle. By the time they realize their mistake, she’s gone missing and their Christmas is in jeopardy. Luckily, nothing will stop Claire from giving her family the holiday they deserve.

The studio did not comment on the roles, but sources say the duo will play two of the woman’s grown children.

Apple TV+ has ordered a series adaptation of the William Gibson novel “Neuromancer,” Variety has learned.

The 10-episode series hails from co-creators Graham Roland and Jd Dillard. Roland will also serve as showrunner, while Dillard will direct the pilot. Skydance Television will co-produce with Anonymous Content.

Following a years-long development process, Apple will officially make a TV series based on William Gibson’s acclaimed sci-fi novel Neuromancer.

The tech giant and streamer has handed out a 10-episode series order to the drama based on the 1984 cyberpunk novel that launched Gibson’s career and the so-called Sprawl trilogy that also includes novels Count Zero (1986) and Mona Lisa Overdrive (1988).

Dark Winds creator Graham Roland and J.D. Dillard (The Twilight Zone) created the series for television. The series, a co-production between Skydance Television and Anonymous Content, will see Roland serve as showrunner with Dillard on board to direct the pilot.

Netflix and Sony Pictures Television’s hit series “The Night Agent” has filled out its cast for Season 2 with Michael Malarkey (“The Vampire Diaries”) and Keon Alexander (“The Expanse”) as series regulars and Navid Negahban (“Homeland”) and Rob Heaps (“Station 11”) as recurring guest stars, opposite returning stars Gabriel Basso and Luciane Buchanan.

Based on the best selling novel by Matthew Quirk, the first season of the show followed Peter Sutherland (Basso), an FBI agent recruited to monitor a rarely used phone in the basement of the White House for the mysterious Night Agent program. When cybersecurity expert Rose Larkin (Buchanan) calls the number one night, they’re both pulled into a twisty conspiracy that reaches to the top echelons of the U.S. government.
