1929 Kollaa, provisional designation 1939 BS, is a main-belt asteroid discovered on January 20, 1939 by Yrjö Väisälä at Turku Observatory, Finland.[1] It is named after the Kollaa River in Karelia, the focal point on the Finnish Winter War (1939–40).[2]
It is a V-type asteroid and has been determined to have a composition akin to cumulate eucrite meteorites, indicating its origin deep within Vesta's crust.[3]
