1972 Cannes Film Festival

The 25th Cannes Film Festival was held on May 4–19, 1972. The Palme d'Or went to the La classe operaia va in paradiso by Elio Petri and Il Caso Mattei by Francesco Rosi.[1][2]
The festival opened with Malpertuis, directed by Harry Kümel and closed with Frenzy, directed by Alfred Hitchcock.[3][4][5]
