The AAA Queen of Queens Championship (Reina de Reinas AAA in Spanish) is a singles professional wrestling females championship promoted by Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). The Championship has been in existence since 1999 and is the only females only championship currently in AAA, though it was at one time held by a man. Being a professional wrestling championship, it is not won legitimately; it is instead won via a scripted ending to a match or awarded to a wrestler because of a storyline. Until 2009 The Queen of Queens title was both a championship in the traditional sense that it is defended regularly, but also an annual tournament where a new Queen of Queens was crowned. Each year the title was vacated going into the tournament. In 2009 the Queen of Queens tournament was dropped and the belt has become a regular championship belt for the Women's division. The Queen of Queens tournament returned on November 27, 2012, when AAA held the tournament in Tokyo, produced in collaboration with Pro Wrestling Wave.[3] The reigning Reina de Reinas Champion, Sexy Star, ended up winning the tournament to retain her title.[4][5][6]
Taya is the current champion in her first reign, after defeating Faby Apache on August 17, 2014, at AAA's Triplemanía XXII show in Mexico City.[1] No wrestler has won the Queen of Queens tournament back to back although Tiffany has won it three times, which is a record and also a record for the most reigns as Queen of Queens Champion. The first champion was Xóchitl Hamada who won the inaugural Queen of Queen tournament in 1999, when she defeated Miss Janeth, Rossy Moreno and Esther Moreno in the tournament final.[2]
