ASUS Eee Keyboard is a computer that has a built-in PC motherboard within a full-size keyboard form factor in a manner of an old-style 1980s PC's: ZX Spectrum, ZPC, Commodore PET, Commodore 64, БК-10 (Russian PC), or similar nowadays Cybernet's keyboard computer models ZPC-GX31, ZPC-D5 or ZPC-H6. It has a touchscreen in place of a conventional keypad. ASUS planned to start shipping the device in September 2009. It was first time shown on CeBIT 2010. The actual appearing on the market comes with big delay and device was overpriced for its time.
The ASUS Eee Keyboard EK1542 represents a standard set of features for netbooks of the year 2008. An Intel® Atom™ N270 processor with TDP 2.5 Watts, built around Intel 945GSE chipset with TDP 6 Watts & ICH7-M South bridge with TDP 3.3 Watts. The Mobile Intel 945GSE Express chipset has integrated Intel GMA 950 video subsystem, so the performance is similar to the Asus EEE PC 901 and Asus EEE PC 1000. The operating system comes with it was the Windows® XP Home Edition with additional 1 GB RAM DDR2 as well as Solid State Drive are soldered directly to motherboard thus memory upgrade is not available. The storage is 16 GB SSD (for models EK1542-S0095 and EK1542-S0325) or 32GB SSD (for model EK1542-S0185) onboard motherboard. Network interface is standard gigabit LAN adapter, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n @2.4 GHz, and a Bluetooth version 2.1. Sound system are done by Realtek, and the 2 small speakers are built-in. The Li-Po accumulator provided has a capacity of 49 W*h.
A unique technological differences with netbooks already sold on the markets were:

- Video decoder Broadcom 70010/70012 Solution for accelerating high definition H.264 and VC-1 video compression algorithms.
- Wireless 720p Video Transmitting function with usage of Ultra-wideband Technology (an UWB minicard with a standalone receiver box which is connecting to TV/Monitor via HDMI interface).
For the time the ASUS Eee Keyboard become a very niche and comparable rare device.
