Arasavalli is an outgrowth of Srikakulam municipality in Srikakulam district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Srikakulam mandal of Srikakulam revenue division.[1][2]
The temple
Arasavalli sun temple which is dedicated to the Hindu solar deity Surya, located in this village. The original name Harshavalli means abode of joy.[citation needed] It is believed to have been built in the 7th Century AD by the Kalinga rulers Devendra Varma of Orissa.
