The national Indian governing body of archery as a sport in India is the Archery Association of India.
Deepika Kumari won an individual gold medal in archery at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, beating Olympic bronze medalist Alison Williamson.[1] Along with Laishram Bombayla Devi and Chekrovolu Swuro, Kumari won a silver medal in the team event at the 2011 World Archery Championships.[2] Srither won gold at Asian Archery Championship held at Indonesia in November 2009.[3]
Another notable Indian archer is three-time Olympian Limba Ram. Ram met a world record in 1992 at the Asian Archery Championships held that year in Beijing.
