Aroma lamp
From Infogalactic: the planetary knowledge core
Aroma lamps, sometimes called diffusers, are used to diffuse essential oils in aromatherapy and esoterics.
There are two different types of aroma lamps:
- Candle driven lamps use a small candle under a bowl to vaporize a mixture of water and oil.
- Electrical lamps use a combination of electrical and mechanical principles to vaporize the essence.
Certain plug-in nightlight units made by companies such as Air Wick are used in combination with glass bulbs of scented oil, filling a room with fragrance and light.
