The Atomwaffen Division (Atomwaffen meaning "nuclear weapons" in German), is a Fascist organization. Formed in 2015 by Brandon Russell and Devon Arthurs and based in the Southern United States, it has since expanded across the United States. The group has its roots in the Global Fascist Fraternity of IronMarch.

History

In 2015, the groups creation was announced by founding member Brandon Russell, on the website IronMarch.org, which has been linked to several groups such as Nordic Resistance Movement, National Action, and the Azov Battalion. In its initial posts, the group described itself as a "very fanatical, ideological band of comrades who do both activism and militant training. Hand to hand, arms training, and various other forms of training. As for activism, we spread awareness in the real world through unconventional means."

The group's membership is mostly young, and it has also recruited new members on university campuses. Some of its campus recruitment poster campaigns urge students to "Join Your Local Nazis!" and say "The Nazis Are Coming!" It posted recruiting posters at the University of Chicago, the University of Central Florida, the Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and Boston University.

During an investigation, ProPublica obtained 250,000 encrypted chat logs written by members of the group. ProPublica, in early 2018, estimated that Atomwaffen had 80 members.

As of March 14, 2020, James Mason officially announced that the Atomwaffen Division has been disbanded. “This is a press announcement from James Mason on the evening of March 9 of this year,” said Mason, who is known to be an advisor to the group and has made personal appearances in some of its propaganda videos. “I was approached by members of the group known as Atomwaffen Division with the request that I make the official announcement of that group's disbanding, effective at once.” [1]

Worldview

Atomwaffen has been inspired by the teachings of IronMarch. Which believe that National Socialism and Fascism are not distinctly separate entities but rather part of the "Cosmic Order" or "Absolute Truth" as defined by the thinkers of IronMarch. This is why in much of the propaganda of Atomwaffen uses "Nazi" interchangeably with "Fascist".

Allegations of false flag and agent provocateur involvement

There have been allegations of the Atomwaffen Division being an agent provocateur and false flag operation in order for the ruling establishment to impose further censorship upon white nationalists and other activists supporting pro-white ideologies.[1]
