Boonie Bears (simplified Chinese: 熊出没; traditional Chinese: 熊出沒; pinyin: xióng chū mò) is a Chinese animated cartoon series shown on both Central China Television (CCTV) and Beijing Television Network (BTV).[1][2][3] The series features two bears, Briar and Bramble, who try to stop Logger Vick from destroying their forest home.
Boonie Bears was first shown in February 2012 and became the most popular children's show in China.[4] It became the most popular during the Qingming festival period. More than 200 13-minute episodes have so far been produced. The series is produced by Fantawild Holdings Inc.. Originally created in Mandarin, Boonie Bears has been translated to other languages, such as English[5] and Russian.[6]
A film based on the series titled Boonie Bears: To the Rescue premiered in China on January 17, 2014. A second film, Boonie Bears: Mystical Winter, was released on January 30, 2015. A third film, Boonie Bears III, was released on January 16, 2016.

Logger Vick
Logger Vick (simplified Chinese: 光头强; traditional Chinese: 光頭強; pinyin: guāng tóu qiáng) is a logger who is continually harassed by Boss Li to chop down the trees of the forest the bears live in. He lives alone in a house in the forest. The bears usually manage to outsmart him and prevent trees from being chopped down.
Boss Li
Boss Li is Logger Vick's unseen boss who forces him to cut trees down.
Briar
Briar (Chinese: 熊大; pinyin: xióng dà) is the brighter of the two bears and leads their attempts to stop Logger Vick. He fights with Bramble sometimes.
Bramble
Bramble (Chinese: 熊二; pinyin: xióng èr) is not the brightest of the bears but is quite strong. He likes eating very much.
Warren
Warren (Chinese: 蹦蹦; pinyin: bèng bèng) is a nervous squirrel who helps Briar and Bramble. He lives in a tree.
Herbert Diggs
Herbert Diggs is a groundhog who lives in the forest.
Hoo Hoo
Hoo Hoo is an owl who lives in the forest.
