Calve Island is an uninhabited island on the east coast of the Isle of Mull in Argyll and Bute on the west coast of Scotland. It provides some shelter for Tobermory Bay and is separated from Mull by a tidal channel.[3] The island is 1.2 miles (1.9 km) in length, and 0.5 miles (0.8 km) wide at its widest point.[5] Under water there is a popular diving site[6] The island is owned by the Cotton family who make use of it in the summer months.[7]
Stamps
Local stamps were issued for Calve Island in 1984 bearing the image of a Basset Hound. The nearest GPO post box is at Tobermory, on mainland Mull.[8][9]
