Carlingford Court is a major shopping centre located in Carlingford, a north-western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Carlingford Court has been managed and fully owned by GPT since July 1996. In December 2013 Federation Limited acquired the Carlingford Court centre from GPT Group.[1] As at 30 June 2006, the centre reported an annual sales turnover of A$166.1 million.

Location

The shopping centre is located 22 km from Sydney's central business district on x20px Pennant Hills Road 8 km from Parramatta at its intersection with Carlingford Road, both of which link to the x20px M2 Hills Motorway. Marsden Road, the start of x20px A6, is located 350 metres to the south of the centre.[2]

The shopping centre is within walking distance from Carlingford railway station, the terminus of the Carlingford Line of the Sydney Trains network. It is also reachable by Sydney Buses and Hillsbus services from Epping railway station on the Northern Line.[3]

History

The centre was built in 1965, and underwent several changes of ownership in the early 1990s. Major redevelopments took place upon GPT's acquisition of the centre, including refurbishment of the Woolworths store in 1998. In 2000, a $40 million upgrade saw the shopping centre gain a Coles supermarket (replacing a Franklins) and add 3,000 m² of floor space.[4] In March 2006, the closure of the 8,000 m² Myer store on the third floor facilitated a move by Target into the space in November 2006. Target's original space was filled by Bing Lee, Go-Lo and Priceline in April and June 2007. In Priceline's old space,it was announced in June that a Dymocks Books will be opening. (It opened late August 2006.) Around this same time, Chemworld Chemist changed ownership to Amcal Pharmacy and had a minor facelift.

In 2007, Woolworths started its national trial of self-serve checkouts at its store in Carlingford Court.
