Cedar Park Center is an indoor arena, located in Cedar Park, in the U.S. state of Texas, near Austin. No corporate sponsor owns the naming rights to the arena. The arena is home to the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League, the Austin Spurs of the NBA Development League and the Austin Aces of World TeamTennis.[7][8][9]

The 8,700-seat sports arena is located at the corner of 183A and New Hope Road in Cedar Park, Texas.

The city of Cedar Park owns the event center, and has partnered with Dallas-based Hicks Sports Marketing to develop an adjacent tract into a 182,000 SF retail and office complex. Their affiliate, Center Operating Group, will manage, book and staff the event center. Hicks Sports Marketing assumes the operating risk of the arena.[10]

History

Construction began in 2008, at a cost of $55 million, and the new arena was officially opened in September 2009. The building's first event took place on September 25, 2009, featuring country music artist George Strait.[11]

Events

On February 18, 2011, the center hosted a Strikeforce MMA televised event, known as ShoMMA 14, with Lyle Beerbohm vs. Pat Healy headlining the show.[12]

On January 31, 2012, a basketball game was played at the center, featuring the Austin Toros against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, with special guest appearances from various school districts, such as Hutto Middle School.
